A Touch Of Optimism

Hallelujah!

Some diary, but it seems that CBD oil can keep my dark thoughts and fears at bay. Hallelujah! For the second day in a row, I didn't have a breakdown and could even enjoy all the beautiful things I saw outside. The sun was shining and the temperature was pleasant, so it was time to go outside with the dogs and get some vitamin D. The dogs seemed to be in the mood for spring and even our sweet Myla made some crazy jumps when she wanted to challenge Skipper to a game.

Lovely Spring Day

In short, it was a really lovely spring day in the middle of March. And fortunately, the CBD oil has calmed me down a bit. It's better to be outside without those sad feelings, and it's certainly nicer not to have to fight your fears and tears all day long. After walking the dogs we sat outside, I grabbed a book, the tennis balls for the dogs in my other hand, and a cup of tea in front of me on the table. Just rest, relax, and don't have to do anything. Except enjoy! The birds that I didn't see much last winter are slowly coming back, and around me, it was a cheerful whistle concert. The vibration of new life was in the air. I can't say that I feel reborn yet, but I am certainly on the right track, so in that respect, CBD oil almost seems like a new beginning for me. Well, that also fits well with spring!

Plum Blossom

While I was feeling the sun on my body and filling up on vitamin D, I looked into the side garden and that was reason enough to jump up, run inside, and grab my camera. The plum blossom is starting to come into full glory, just wait until the cherries, pears, and apple trees join in.

And when I see the plum blossom I enjoy it, not only because these flowers are currently laying a beautiful white blanket over our trees. The beautiful sight now is enjoyable, for sure! But it will also be enjoyable when the flowers have bloomed and the trees are bearing fruit. When those fruits are ripe, you will certainly enjoy them again. Such deliciously sweet, juicy plums later in the season. The blossoming of the plum trees marks the beginning of a new growing season and offers a taste of the bounty to come. And yes, I love plums, but as with many things, plums also have their pros and cons.

Pros Of Plums

One of the advantages is of course the taste. There's nothing like a juicy, ripe plum straight from the tree. They are sweet, juicy, and packed with vitamins and antioxidants. Plus, plums are versatile - you can eat them fresh, make them into jam, dry them for plums, or even use them in savory dishes. So what are the benefits of plums anyway?

Plums are one of the few natural products recommended by official medicine. Most people only know plums for their laxative effect, but that's not all the benefits plums can provide. The plum is not even the best at this, the buckthorn bark is much more effective as a laxative. What plums can do, for example, is protect against cavities in your teeth, help regulate blood pressure, stimulate your brain, improve your vision, and they can help prevent vitamin deficiency. These are just a few of the features. Plums have even more benefits.

Cons Of Plums

But let's also talk about the disadvantages. Plums, especially dried ones, are a real calorie bomb and if consumed in excess, plums can cause digestive problems in some people, so be sure to eat them in moderation!

Daffodils

While I was photographing the blossom, I looked further, and there I saw the Daffodils again. This time a beautiful flowering bush and not just a single Daffodil, and that view was too beautiful not to photograph.

One of the things that strikes me every year is the cheerful appearance of the Daffodils. The large bright yellow flowers seem to catch and radiate the sun themselves. Hopefully, I will still think that tomorrow when it rains and even hails again as expected. And that reminds me that I forgot to bring in the laundry, oops! I blame the daffodils, they seemed to shout to me that spring has truly arrived, and with their cheerful yellow color, they gave me a feeling of joy and optimism.

Did you know that nowadays daffodils are grown specifically for their bulbs because they contain a substance that is used to make a medicine against dementia? And that medicine seems to work even better than all the chemical medicines. Wow, how strange! (sarcasm off again). But be careful, daffodils also have their dark side. Did you know that they are poisonous if ingested? Yes, sorry, you can't eat the daffodil, and it's better if your pet doesn't. Pay attention if you are in an area where many deer and rabbits live and where there are fields with bulbs. Deer and rabbits will eat a lot of bulbs, but they leave the daffodil bulbs alone. They know these are poisonous to them.

Mellow Yellow

Since my day mainly showed a lot of yellow, I suddenly thought about color psychology, which is also interesting of course. At least, I've always found it interesting. Yellow is a color often associated with joy, energy, and optimism. Yellow can brighten your mood and give you a feeling of happiness and vitality. It's a positive and stimulating color, and if you've been following me the past few days, you know I could use that.

Too bad it was only one sunny day, tomorrow, rain and even hail are expected again. That means looking at the yellow daffodils through the window to get my daily dose of optimism.
