Oh, back when I took the photo of the red lips, they were still fairly new. Last time I saw them, they were actually in a horribly faded and crumbling shape. So yeah, good thing they got painted over. Even better, they were covered by another cool image.
It's always cool to see a wall being "renewed", especially with quality work.
