Es maravilloso compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi experiencia al comprar los zapatos que usaré en mi acto de graduación, como dije en mi introducción estoy a la espera de recibirme como bachiller de la república por lo que estoy muy orgulloso, después de tantos tropiezos ahora veo que con esfuerzo y dedicación todo se puede lograr y puedo decir que los resultados son muy buenos, no solo eso porque hacen sentir mucha satisfacción y felicidad.

El caso es que salí con mi hermano y mi madre al centro de la ciudad con la finalidad de comprar mis zapatos, recorrimos el noventa porciento de las zapaterías, primero viendo los modelos y los precios que se adaptaran al presupuesto de mi madre que eran treinta dólares, muchos pensaran que treinta dólares no es nada, pero estando en mi país, conseguir esa cantidad es un poco fuerte debido al alta inflación en la economía, pero bueno; contábamos con eso así que revisamos en casi todos los negocios donde venden zapatos para poder convencerme bien de un bonito modelo con buena calidad.

Me causó mucha impresión que en la mayoría de las tiendas dijeran que no había tallas grandes. Me llegué a sentir como en un cuento que mama me contaba de pequeño, donde el personaje principal era un gigante y el resto eran enanos. Es increíble porque en las calles de la ciudad hay muchas personas también en promedio, en especial los estudiantes de sexo masculino que asisten a la universidad. A no ser que compren sus calzados en otras ciudades, me pasaron muchas ideas al respecto por mi mente y casi me doy por vencido.

It is incredible because in the streets of the city there are many people also on average, especially male students attending the university. Unless they buy their shoes in other cities, many ideas about this went through my mind and I almost gave up.

Mamá es una mujer insistente por lo que trataba de animarme para que continuáramos la búsqueda de zapatos, tanto ella como yo sabíamos que tampoco íbamos a comprar cualquier cosa porque la idea no era salir del paso con cualquier par de zapatos que luego no querría por no ser de mi agrado o por la mala calidad tener que comprar otro par, así que me llene de paciencia y quise creer que en alguna tienda estaba un par de zapatos esperando por mí.

Mom is an insistent woman so she tried to encourage me to continue the search for shoes, both she and I knew that we were not going to buy anything because the idea was not to get out of the way with any pair of shoes that later I would not want for not being to my liking or because of the poor quality having to buy another pair, so I was filled with patience and I wanted to believe that in some store was a pair of shoes waiting for me.

Casi derrotados por el cansancio que produce el calor, entramos a una tienda que es nuestra primera visita a ella porque si hemos pasado por el lugar, pero nunca habíamos entrado pensando que vendían zapato viejos, de esos que tienen guardados por mucho tiempo y para nuestra sorpresa, allí estaban mis zapatos esperando por mí. En ese momento me di cuenta de que las apariencias engañan porque la tienda vende cosas muy buenas y, aunque los zapatos que elegí estaban por encima del presupuesto, mama pudo pagarlos. Algo que admiro de ella, siempre resuelve todo. Bueno, creo que así son las mamás.

Almost defeated by the tiredness produced by the heat, we entered a store that is our first visit to it because we have passed by the place, but we had never entered thinking that they sold old shoes, those that have been stored for a long time and to our surprise, there were my shoes waiting for me. At that moment I realized that appearances are deceiving because the store sells very good things and, although the shoes I chose were over budget, mom was able to afford them. Something I admire about her, she always solves everything. Well, I guess that's how moms are.

Lo cierto de todo esto, fue que me costó encontrar un par de zapatos, es la primera vez que me pasa algo así, quiero pensar que salí a comprar justos cuando todas las tiendas esperaban mercancía para mantenerme optimista, aunque cualquiera pensaría que hace mucho no compro zapatos, pero es que es la primera vez que me pasa algo como esto y tampoco es que mi talla sea estrambótica porque para medir 1.89 estoy en el rango de mis compañeros quienes también calzan como yo. Lo importante es que ya tengo zapatos para estrenar el día viernes 19 en la misa de acción de gracias y firma del libro, mientras llega el gran día.

The important thing is that I already have shoes to wear on Friday 19th at the thanksgiving mass and book signing, until the big day arrives.
