Las fotos callejeras han llamado mucho mi atención últimamente, salir a caminar, reflexionar en el camino, regresar a casa y editarlas a blanco y negro ha sido bastante interesante para mí. Mi interés por algún objetivo me hace buscar aspectos sobre mí, me cuestiona el hecho de por qué he sido cautivado por ello. Descubrir la esencia de la expresión de la fotografía en mí mismo es descubrirme a mí mismo, es cada pensamiento. Esa profunda reflexión observan y buscando afuera lo que nace desde adentro me consigo con muchas curiosidades que he cultivado en el tiempo.

Street photos have caught my attention a lot lately, going for a walk, reflecting on the way, returning home and editing them in black and white has been quite interesting for me. My interest in some lens makes me search for aspects about myself, it makes me question the fact why I have been captivated by it. Discovering the essence of the expression of photography in myself is discovering myself, it is every thought. That deep reflection observes and searching outside what is born from within I get many curiosities that I have cultivated over time.

Descartar todo el color de la imagen me quita toda distracción para entender lo que quiere comunicarme la imagen. Parto de la idea que nuestro carácter y personalidad viene arraigada dentro de nosotros, aparentemente de manera invisible, al repetir mucho una conducta nos demuestra que algo está atrapado en nuestra mente de forma inconsciente. Desde esa perspectiva no identificamos con objetivos particulares, unos más, otros menos. Cuando decidí empezar a hacer mis caminatas fotográficas reflexivas, la interacción conmigo mismo ha sido maravillosa.

Discarding all color from the image removes all distractions to understand what the image wants to communicate to me. I start from the idea that our character and personality is rooted within us, apparently invisibly, by repeating a behavior a lot shows us that something is trapped in our mind unconsciously. From that perspective we do not identify with particular objectives, some more, some less. When I decided to start doing my reflective photo walks, the interaction with myself has been wonderful.

Desnudarse internamente es abordarse desde la sinceridad, centrarse en las emociones y las atmósferas internas que creamos, hacernos conscientes todo ese mar de pensamiento y así dejar de depender del automático y empezar a moverse hacia lo que realmente queremos de vida, alejándonos de lo que no queremos. Cada imagen representa un detalle de mí en el justo momento, un pensamiento fugaz que narra mi historia y mi condición respecto al todo mi entorno.

To undress internally is to approach ourselves from sincerity, to focus on the emotions and internal atmospheres that we create, to make us aware of all that sea of thought and thus stop depending on the automatic and start moving towards what we really want from life, moving away from what we do not want. Each image represents a detail of me at the right moment, a fleeting thought that tells my story and my condition with respect to my surroundings.

Esta audacia de observación interna me hace cuestionar mi realidad inmediata y centrarme en la perspectiva de la vida que quiero. Posiblemente, a nivel visual, estas fotos no tengan una coherencia narrativa, sin embargo, cuentan una historia invisible, ese discurso que llevamos por dentro, esa visión espejo que me define de forma especial. Estas caminatas se han convertido en un viaje de introspección y de autodescubrimiento, expresión fotográfica que se sumerge en la esencia de la fotografía, desafiándome a ver el mundo de manera distinta, desde lo interno; cambiando lo que sea necesario para lograrlo.

This audacity of internal observation makes me question my immediate reality and focus on the perspective of the life I want. Possibly, on a visual level, these photos do not have a narrative coherence, however, they tell an invisible story, that discourse that we carry inside, that mirror vision that defines me in a special way. These walks have become a journey of introspection and self-discovery, a photographic expression that dives into the essence of photography, challenging me to see the world differently, from the inside; changing whatever is necessary to achieve it.

Esta es mi propuesta para el reto #monomad. Un ejercicio fotográfico de reflexión interna. Las fotos han sido capturadas durante caminatas reflexivas en Duitama, Colombia. Usé la cámara de un teléfono Motorola g22, editadas en Silver Efex Pro con Adobe Lightroom.

This is my proposal for the #monomad challenge. A photographic exercise of inner reflection. The photos have been captured during reflective walks in Duitama, Colombia. I used the camera of a Motorola g22 phone, edited in Silver Efex Pro with Adobe Lightroom.
