Desde que me inicié en la fotografía el teatro siempre ha estado presente, pero ha sido desde el año pasado que me he involucrado mucho más, tanto en hacer fotos a las obras y montajes como entender toda la diversidad que hay en el mundo de las tablas. Ahora voy con mucha más frecuencia al teatro, y por supuesto, con mi cámara, he aprendido a disfrutar las obras tras el lente. Ha sido más que hacer fotos, el teatro me ha hecho ver lo versátil que puede llegar a ser. Se combina el intelecto y el arte de manera perfecta, aunado a ello, la creatividad; podemos ver diferentes tipos de representaciones, desde cómicas, conmovedoras, alegres, hasta las muy dramáticas.

Since I started in photography the theater has always been present, but it has been since last year that I have become much more involved, both in taking pictures of the plays and productions and in understanding all the diversity that exists in the world of the stage. Now I go much more frequently to the theater, and of course, with my camera, I have learned to enjoy the plays behind the lens. It's been more than just taking pictures, theater has made me see how versatile it can be. It combines intellect and art in a perfect way, and creativity; we can see different types of performances, from comical, touching, joyful, to very dramatic.

En el teatro he podido presenciar muchas cosas particulares sin saber de alguna técnica específica o algún método particular, no he estudiado teatro, sin embargo, en cada obra que asisto y hago fotos, por lo regular, investigo un poco y voy aprendiendo cosas nuevas. En esta ocasión les presento una obra titulada Pim Pam Clown - La Guerra de los Pasayos, del grupo Nemcatacoa Circo Teatro. La palabra "clown" llamo mi atención, ya la había visto en otra obra que también le hice fotos, y resulta que es una técnica teatral donde el actor muestra su lado más cómico, el personaje creado es como el alter ego cómico del actor.

In the theater I have been able to witness many particular things without knowing any specific technique or any particular method, I have not studied theater, however, in each play I attend and take pictures, usually, I investigate a little and I learn new things. On this occasion I present a play entitled Pim Pam Clown - La Guerra de los Pasayos, by the group Nemcatacoa Circo Teatro. The word "clown" caught my attention, I had already seen it in another play that I also took pictures of, and it turns out that it is a theatrical technique where the actor shows his most comic side, the character created is like the comic alter ego of the actor.

Me pareció muy curioso como los actores logran exagerar todos los gestos propios de una manera auténtica, claro, el físico de cada uno de ellos es diferente, por lo que las expresiones son únicas y singulares en cada uno de ellos. La obra trataba sobre los soldados que van a la guerra, haciendo énfasis en el discurso que tuerce la mente para justificar todos los actos y pensamientos de guerra. Un tema tan sensible y cruel es desdibujado para convertirlo de manera sarcástica y cómica dentro de este estilo teatral: El Clown.

I found it very curious how the actors manage to exaggerate all their own gestures in an authentic way, of course, the physique of each of them is different, so the expressions are unique and singular in each of them. The play was about the soldiers who go to war, emphasizing the speech that twists the mind to justify all acts and thoughts of war. Such a sensitive and cruel topic is blurred to turn it into a sarcastic and comical way within this theatrical style: The Clown.

A pesar de que el montaje conllevaba un mensaje algo pesado y cruel, la esencia de los personajes mostrando su niño interno desplegaba sonrisas a todos en la sala, fue muy divertido. La obra contenía mucha violencia camuflada, sin embargo, la agresión no se tramita cómo tal, toda la función fue como un juego de niños. Más allá de la ternura de los personajes, la reflexión del tema no deja de estar presente en nuestra mente a pesar de la creatividad jocosa de la obra, de hecho, me parece que es más poderoso el mensaje para el subconsciente.

Despite the fact that the staging had a somewhat heavy and cruel message, the essence of the characters showing their inner child made everyone in the room smile, it was very funny. The play contained a lot of camouflaged violence, however, the aggression is not treated as such, the whole show was like child's play. Beyond the tenderness of the characters, the reflection of the theme does not cease to be present in our minds despite the play's jocular creativity, in fact, it seems to me that the message to the subconscious is more powerful.

La Sala de Grillo de la Corporación Cultural Comunitaria Atabanza, en Boyacá - Colombia, una vez más abre sus puertas a nuevos artistas de la región. He tenido el honor que los directores de la corporación me abran las puertas de su sala nuevamente para hacer mi mejor esfuerzo fotográfico. He realizado las fotos con una cámara Canon 700D y he editado las fotos en Adobe Lightroom.

The Sala de Grillo of the Atabanza Community Cultural Corporation, in Boyacá - Colombia, once again opens its doors to new artists of the region. I have had the honor that the directors of the corporation open the doors of their hall again to make my best photographic effort. I have taken the photos with a Canon 700D camera and edited the photos in Adobe Lightroom.
