Whanganui, a town of street art - Part 1
Whanganui is a town about 2 hours drive north of Wellington in New Zealand, and it has a thriving arts scene and as part of that some very very good street art, so lets take a look at some of the pieces available for viewing
The scale of this piece is amazing, this would be 25 metres from head to toe. And what a look, a great portrait of a slacker girl, with cool yellow kicks.
and here is the close up of those shoes, Interaction with the environment is always important with street art, and I have to say I like how it looks like she is about to kick the bin
This piece is a little more artistic, and nowhere near as fun, but it seems important to me
I love this piece, again another one which is using scale, when we say this it was late in the afternoon, a little cold and gloomy, and the deep sea depths seemed to work so well with it. The artist of this piece is Milarky - check them out on Insta for some pretty cool stuff.
The amount of street art is really impressive, this gives you a sense of the layers of large pieces spread over a number of buildings.
As I said in the Weekly StreetArt, great selection of StreetArt. And cool to see it's only the first part. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.
Have a great day
