Street Art in Abbotsford - Melbourne Australia

Abbotsford is a suburb just to the north of downtown Melbourne, although gentrifying, I mean it has two craft breweries in the local strip of shops there is still a little bit of grit and a hint of the more industrial, working class past.

So in a early evening let's see five shots which sum up what this scene is all about.

I love the graphical nature of this peice, I also loved how it interacted with the shadows in the late afternoon, early evening. This was on the side of terrace house, I'm going to guess it was commissioned by the homeowner, or at least the top part was, can't speak for the tag at the bottom.

This again was a old warehouse which has been converted into townhouses, with the homeowner deciding that he/she wanted something to spruce up the garage, it work so well. This piece is the work of an artist called Mick Porter - The 'Sinch' you can see written in it is a tribute to his younger brother, who was a tagger and died back in 2014 - when he was electrocuted whilst 'surfing' on top of a train - which I guess is a reminder that a)not all street art is the cool shit that we all think adds value and b)it's also not safe to do.

I nice piece in a back alley somewhere.

Cool selection of works especially the last one. A lot of working-class neighborhoods are gentrifying. It's cool when there's a certain social mix, and the neighborhood is more lively. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great day
