#Monomad Photography - Three shots of the National Theatre in London

This building if 50 years old, which is old, like really old, like a whole lifetime of old, and lifetime that has seemed both incredibly long and incredibly short all at the same time. But you likely want to know something about this building which is the National Theatre in Southbank in London to go with your three shots - taken by me in a 2 minute span on a Sunday Afternoon back in May

London’s National Theatre is a landmark of Brutalist architecture, designed by British architect Denys Lasdun from the concept of “architecture as urban landscape”. Construction began in 1969 and the building was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in October 1976, with its theatres completed in stages through 1977. Its terraces, fly towers and dramatic stepped forms are built chiefly from textured, exposed concrete, complemented by glass, steel and Douglas fir timber. Lasdun intended the broad platforms and public foyers to function like an elevated civic plaza overlooking the Thames. Inside are three auditoria: the Olivier Theatre, an open-stage auditorium seating about 1,160; the Lyttelton, a proscenium theatre seating approximately 890; and the smaller Dorfman, a flexible studio space seating up to 500. The complex also contains rehearsal rooms, restaurants and bars, offices, workshops, costume and scenery-making facilities, backstage areas and extensive public foyers.

I'm so with you - I see the number 50 and I think that's old, but then I think, hang on a sec, I'm not old.
Yeah, I made a comment last week after passing my childhood home. I wanted to get off the bus and try to climb the tree that I used to 60 years ago.
Don't act your age - act your shoe size!
(I'm not sure if that works in Oz) 🤣
