Bibit sawi berumur empat hari setelah semai ini, mulai menunjukkan fase awal pertumbuhan dengan dua daun lembaga yang telah membuka sempurna. Pada tahap ini, kondisi cuaca yang sering mendung menjadi perhatian karena berpotensi memicu pertumbuhan etiolasi apabila intensitas cahaya tidak mencukupi.
