Výlety z jihoslovenských termálů; Not Only Extraordinary Mill in South Slovakia

Téměř každá obec u Nových Zámků má termální koupaliště. A samozřejmě i samotné okresní město má též takové zařízení a to už od třicátých let dvacátého století. A když vás louhování v bazénu omrzí, můžete vyrazit na výlet do města a jeho okolí.

EN: Many towns and also some villages around Nové Zámky have its own thermal swimming pool. The district town itself is no exception – its thermal baths have been welcoming visitors since the 1930s. But when I had had enough of relaxing in the warm water, it was time to explore the town and its surroundings.

Jediný lodní mlýn ve střední Evropě se nachází v obci Kolárovo. Je to sice replika, ale mlýnské složení uvnitř je originální. K lodnímu mlýnu se dostanete po nejdelším krytém dřevěném mostě na Slovensku.

EN: One of the most interesting places is Kolárovo, home to the only floating water mill in Central Europe. The mill itself is a replica, but the original milling machinery has been preserved inside. To reach the mill, I crossed the longest covered wooden bridge in Slovakia.

Fungoval tak, že mezi příděmi se voda dostávala do užšího hrdla, čímž se tok zrychloval. Koleso uprostřed potom roztáčelo složení uvnitř lodi s hřídeli a palečnicovými koly. V nádobě zvané lub (za lubem se potom nacházela mouka, která po semletí zůstávala mlynáři) jsou dva mlýnské kameny - jeden větší a pevný a na něm se otáčel kámen běhoun. V expozici je i obraz Jana Nepomuckého, patrona lodních mlýnů.

EN: The mill worked thanks to the power of the river. The water flowed through the narrower space between the two hulls, which made the current faster. The current then turned the large water wheel between the boats. A system of shafts and cogwheels transferred the movement to the milling machinery inside the mill.

Inside the so-called lub, the space around the millstones, there are two stones – a larger stationary one and a rotating runner stone above it. The flour produced by the mill fell into the space behind the stones, where the miller collected it. The exhibition also contains a painting of Saint John of Nepomuk (the best-known Czech saint) , the patron saint of floating mills.

Další výlet jsme podnikli do slovenského Komárna a maďarského Komáromu. Obě města jsou pevnostní. Dnes už zde ale nežijí vojáci, ve většině bastionů sídlí muzea. Nedaleko centra slovenského Komárna se po průchodu jednoho z domů ocitnete ve Dvoraně Evropy. Každý dům je postaven v jiném stylu, přičemž inspirací jsou typické domy různých evropských zemí.

EN: Our next trip took us to Komárno in Slovakia and neighbouring Komárom in Hungary. Both towns are famous for their large fortresses. Soldiers, however, are no longer stationed here. Today, many of the bastions are home to museums and exhibitions.

Not far from the centre of Komárno, passing through one of the buildings, I found myself in the Courtyard of Europe. Each house is built in a different architectural style, inspired by traditional buildings from various European countries. In a small area, you can therefore take a short architectural journey across Europe.

Jednou z nejpozději založených obcí na Slovensku je Dedina mládeže u Kolárova. Vznikla z budovatelského nadšení dne 4. 4. 1949. Sice zde nenajdete historické památky, nicméně obec působí velmi upraveným dojmem.

EN: One of the youngest villages in Slovakia is Dedina Mládeže (in translation The village of the Youth), near Kolárovo. It was founded on 4 April 1949, during the period of post-war enthusiasm for building a new socialist society. You will not find any historic monuments here, but the village makes a very neat and well-kept impression.
