Winter sunrise mission at nature reserve!

The last week of 2022 was a cold one! there were temperatures far below freezing and the humidity was very high! Fog and frost make that every thing is going to be white!

So I talked to a friend of my and we decided to go out on an early morning photo shoot!
The morning started out not foggy at all, but the temperatures were pretty cold, minus 8 Celsius so that was good!

First we wanted to go to the forest because that would have been awesome of all the trees were white, but we changes the plans and went to a nature reserve were there is water and more open field! Hoping for a nice sunrise! National park Leersumseveld! Here you can see the route we took!

Many nature reserves are "closed off" at night, not literally by a gate, but on paper! You are only aloud there between sunrise and sunset! That is to give the animals some quiet time! this morning, we were very early on location, one hour before sunrise, because morning rush hour wasn't busy at all! Normally if there is dense fog, people are scared and suddenly cant drive any more! But we were lucky and no fog is no traffic jams!

On the entrance of the park there is a little house for the park rangers, and this morning there was someone in there, working already! He came outside and told us that we could not go in jet because it was one hour before sunrise! We needed to wait for about 30 minutes before we were aloud in! Times like this I am happy to have a camper van! Time for coffee!

After coffee we went in to the park and for a wile it looked like the clouds were to thick for a nice sunrise! We kept the camera in the bag and just walked and talked about the photography businesses! But suddenly the clouds broke open and there was a nice pink and orange color coming from behind the clouds! There was no more time to run to the water for some nice reflection shots, but luckily these trees were a nice subject close by!

We wondered around a bit more and took some pictures of each other! Its always nice to have new profile pictures of your self! I will show you the pictures she made of me at the end of this post!

On our way back to my van, suddenly there came some stunning light from behind the clouds and we tried to capture that as well! Then you really need to look at the location you are at and take advantages of the skills you have as a photographer to quickly make something beautiful out of it!
Than you run like crazy to capture it all! gotta catch em all 😂

I really love this picture! I tried to keep a smooth face as possible!
You see that in the second picture, that that's not possible for a long time! I realy like the mood and light in these two pictures! This was in a little bird watching hideout!

This was in the beginning of the hike! The sky was as grey as my Icelandic sweater! You see me trying not to laugh and working hard to keep a straight face 😅
