Wednesday walk, around the dutch polders

Hello Wednesday walkers,

This was a walk I took on the last winter day this year. As you can see, there is still ice on the water, because the temperatures were below 5 Celsius that morning. It was a perfect morning with no wind and when the sun came out, you immediately felt the warmth of it.

There was not really a route on google maps but that is always part of the fun.

The molehills were still frozen. it must have been nice and warm down there

The time between the picture above here and below is two minutes. The grass defrosted that quickly. The power of the sun is real.

I looked at google maps and I didn't saw a clear route so I just went for it.

I needed to climb this fence, and they put up barbed wire on it. I managed to go over it with out damaging my cloths.

These were the first signs of spring. They are called snow bells in Dutch. How do you call these flowers?

On the main road I saw the first signs of life. There were more people a wake that early.

The ducks hung around together at this spot because the water doesn't freezes that quickly here. There is a pipe under the road witch causes more current. And the movement of several birds together also ensures that the water doesn't freezes that quickly.

This is on the other side. there is a little lock to regulate the water levels. Cool that the birds know that this is better place for cold nights.

Yeah more people.

And back in civilization. A park next to an apartment complex.

The last bridge to my destination.

The bus stop. Heading home with the bus

What a charming place for a walk seems a book scenario so calm.

What kind of book would that be? Could be about some one alone with his thoughts. That could give some nice stories.

As I read and watched the pictures, I was drawn into the vivid experience of your winter walk, capturing the peaceful transition of seasons with frozen molehills, defrosting grass, and the sun’s gentle warmth. The spontaneity of your journey added a sense of adventure, from climbing a barbed wire fence to encountering delicate snow bells along the way. Your keen observations of nature, such as ducks gathering near a pipe and the lock regulating water levels, revealed a thoughtful connection to the environment. The photographs perfectly complemented the narrative, creating a visual story that brought the walk to life, while your closing note about your socials and webshops was a warm invitation to continue exploring your creativity.

You are so lucky to be able to walk in such a beautiful place. There are many things to enjoy. I am interested in the flock of birds swimming together.
