Peace and quiet in forest pictures.

Hello photo lovers,

During one of my forest walks I wanted to try a different style of photography. Normally I take pictures of the trails trough the forest. Straight lines and if possible, a person walking in to it. Always nice to have a person in there, good for seeing the perspective and the scale of the forest.

And now I wanted to zoom in on the forest its self more. Maybe a bit difficult to describe what I wanted to do, but in the moment it self I also didn't really know what I wanted. There are so many trees pack on top of each other in the forest that it always looks so chaotic in there. I wanted to create pictures that looked like tranquility. But that's not always possible. Look at the first two pictures. There is no way that you can get a nice and "tranquil" pictures out of this.

chaotic

And sometimes you realize, when you are at home editing pictures, that a composition like this would have worked perfectly. To bad the big branch is across the whole frame. But I did learn from this picture.

little tree

This edit is a nit light but also here I think I create a bit of structure in the forest. The pictures is clearly two parts, the top trees and the warm blanket of dead ferns. It feels like there is peace in this picture.

This pictures feel a bit more playful. The light part on the left and the trees "looking" at it, ore pointing to it. Stil a bit to much chaos

What do you think when you read the descriptions I gave you here? that fallen tree in the distance and the thin branch in the front make this picture feel busy. Imagine if those two were not there. Than it would be what I meant to capture.

These two pictures are more colorful so it directly feels like a complete picture. The timing was great because the sun came from behind the clouds for a couple of minutes. That always helps in photography.

They is not a lot visible of the sky. that also is less distraction. And maybe pine trees always di better in forest pictures.

I do like trees like this in the forest. The white bark stands out well against the dark background of the forest. And the dead ferns make the forest floor looks like a warm blanket. i think this is what I wanted to capture. it looks like chaotic in there but this picture just works very good.

I am wonderingh, witch of these pictures do you like the most? Can you explain why you like that one? It always interesting to hear what people think of your photo's. Thank you guy's for you input.

Chaos in the woods always ends up being precise and striking. I love that beautiful, enveloping chaos that makes you want to be there.

I like the second one despite the branch in the middle. Although it would be best I think to have someone in the center cos the branch is a good guide to the subject in the middle. :D Beautiful pictures.

The 2nd last one! There's a good amount of trees and the colour of the leaves has a nice contrast!
