CCC's Street Art Contest #249 Berlin Hause Schwarzenberg

Hello street art lovers,

During my trip to Berlin I came across this little alley that was completely foll with graffiti. It's located in the middle of a busy street in Berlin's Mitte district. it's called Haus Schwarzenberg, a small alley full of street art.

There are various organizations and companies located here and they all want to keep this street and building in it's original state. No new high rise buildings ore shiny office complexes, just small shops, restaurants, a cafés, a museum and a cinema. And they all work together to keep this place unique.

And this is a big mural in that street that stood out. It is made by the artists Sol Undurraga Machicao and Mujer Gallina In cooperation with the Coalition Against Disappearances for the International Day Against Enforced Disappearances in 2021

And that's why it's called “Enforced disappearance”. On this mural there are all kinds of people who were taken from their home ore country and were never seen again. These people were taken by government officials or by organized groups or private individuals acting on behalf of their government or with the acquiescence of the government. People are forcefully made to disappear like this all over the world on a daily basis. Their relatives and activists search, sometimes for decades, for these people or at least for certainty about their situation.

And probably the most famous disappeared girl in the world, Anne Frank.

Great work on this building with this message. Apart from Anne Frank's, the rest is unknown to me. But I like the idea that even though they're gone, their names are inscribed on this wall. Never forgotten. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great Friday
