Bags and flag on the many flagpole's in the Netherlands! What is that for?

And there are all kinds of bag's hanging on the flag poles!

What is going on here?
No, it has nothing to do with the European championship football! Of course there are flags for that hanging as well but those are more oranges of color!!

Last Thursday, a lot of students were waiting with their family next to the telephone!
Those student had all participated in the final exams at their high schools!

And last Thursday was the day that they were getting the results! Their teachers were calling everybody to tell them if they were graduated or that they had to retake an exam in a resit!

If you graduated then the flag can go out and the student also hang their school bag's in the flag pole!

Some take the opportunity to make extra statements!

And there are also students who want to show what they accomplished! This one probably studied medicine!

An extra flag with graduated on it, in case we would not know!

Not every one has got a flagpole! And a bag that low next to the sidewalk can be stolen quickly! I would not hang my bag on their either!
