We all don't like borders, they usually mean that you have to show your passport and that you have to get a visa or any kind of paperwork. All this was not even necessary because we are in Europe. YES!

In my following post, I share with you some light paintings that we took on the bridge crossing from Germany to Poland. Once again there is a huge thank you in order since I met up with Danilo, Felix, and Tomas my photography friends from Görlitz. I was also accompanied by Nadia who has never been to Poland and the first thing she did was run over the bridge to explore how it is on the other side in Poland. Quick back and forth without border control.

This time we met at the Kulturinsel Einsiedel e.V. which is a very interesting tree house hotel which is made out of a lot of tree houses and playground-like installations. All over the entire property, I don't think that is one rectangular structure. Everything is organic since it is all made out of trees.

The hotel is located in the most Eastern part of Germany just north of Görlitz. As you can see in my post and the photos here it's actually crossing over from one country to another country.

This was the last location we took photos of that night. We all came together for a collaboration. While Felix was setting up his camera really close to the water I stayed a little elevated.

The featured light painting here is a 77-second single-exposure light painting. The camera was set to ISO 1000 and my 16 to 35 mm Canon lens was set to F8 at a focal length of 20 mm.

For this photo, Thomas and I did the lighting on the bridge. Thomas was lighting up the tree house tower on the other side of the river that you see in red and yellow. Meanwhile, I was lighting up the bridge and pontons that cross the river/border. The bright light behind the tower on the other side comes from a car of a couple of tourists who were spending the night having a little rave over there.

Of course, this wasn't the only photo that we took. We had about six attempts until we got the photo the way we wanted it. And, of course, we tried several different color combinations as you see in the following image. The trickiest part was to find complementary colors to the original paint of the Bridge.

Since Nadia and I still had to go back to Berlin I pulled the plug at some point and said we have to go home.

Even after we left Felix and Thomas tried more color combinations and tried to perfect their Light Painting images. For me, this was good enough to call it a night.

We all arrived at the Einsiedel about 5 p.m. in the afternoon so we got to see the location by daylight. After we entered the property Eugen showed us around and the first thing that he showed us was the bridge crossing over to Poland. Only after we find out how big the property actually is and how many cool installations can be found in my next post, of course, I will share more impressions here you get to see only what is really close to it like the little ship that I was convinced I will definitely like paint during the night. But then there were so many things to do it was impossible to decide what to do on the first Light Painting night so I was almost overwhelmed with all the cool things that could be photographed. I knew already then I want to come back here.

The funny coincident was that the first spot we got to see also became our last spot to photograph.
