A Stroll Through Skopje 🚶 Center Adjacent

What up fellow walkers? 🤗 Hope everyone is doing well in this cacophony we call life. And if you're feeling up to it, maybe read about the walk I had yesterday. 😇

We're back in the city! It's actually been a while since I've written about a walk inside the city walls. This time around I am taking you on a walk adjacent to all my previous walks. 😅 A friend called me over after work and I decided to journal said walk to his place for my people here.

Hope you all are ready to get another glimpse of Skopje - Onwards! 🚶

So we start from the Church you've already seen in my Bitka Walk, w2e're talking about the Church of St. Marry.

The whole day was overcast, which means my shots are all gray-hued. 😭 I apologize for my weather's tardiness.

Anywhos, once we leave this little side area where the church is, we have to cross ye ol' Vardar - the longest river in both Macedonia and Greece.

As I cross the bridge I notice some poor sod got their car towed. 😂 Not fun.

And once past the street, we stand across from a famous mall - the Vero Mall. Vero is a convenience store chain in both Macedonia and Greece. This mall is not only a market, however, as it houses a lot of known and prominent brands.

On the corner where we're standing, there's a memorial to fallen Macedonian heroes that fought against the Ottoman Empire some 200 years ago.

We cross the street here and walk adjacent to the mall. 😉

Next to Vero Mall is a brand new building that just sprouted around a year ago. This building as you can see from its architecture, is half commercial building half residential.

Not sure about the inside, but I like how it turned out from the outside looking in. 💯

And of course, in typical East Europe fashion, we have something completely unkept only like 10 meters ahead. 😁

As we continue on we have a bus stop, and a BMX, dirt bike riding course right behind it. The building you see behind the course is a complex of Olympic swimming pools.

I actually just noticed you can barely see the building. It's that little section to the right!

We move on through a commercial area that has shops ranging from appliances to furniture, to food, to convenience stores.

We soon have to leave this main street and head into a lil ol' side street that will serve as a shortcut to our destination. We're almost there!

One last look at the busy streets before we take a sharp left. ◀️

This is one o the older neighborhoods in the city. There are some shops and/or offices, but it's mostly residential.

The biggest high school in the city is just to the left, while a very busy utilitarian street is to the right. We are heading towards this street.

As we turn right we immediately e4xit this quaint neighborhood.

We are soon upon one of the busiest streets in the city! Once we're across, we are where we need to be.

A lot of my friends live in this area, and it's mostly residential buildings surrounding the biggest middle school in the city (I know! what's with all these schools here... tell me about it...).

The school in question:

And as I walk beside it I arrive at my destination.

The sun started to peak behind the clouds, so we decided to sit outside rather than in his apartment. And this is one of the spots we've sat on the most throughout our torturous existence. 😛

Hope you guys had fun on this stroll through Skopje with me! I'm glad to be showing different aspects of my hometown to you, beautiful people.

Not sure where we'll go next week, but I reckon I'll find something interesting.

Obligatory shout-out to the 🍕PIZZA🍕 gang, 🤙 gang. 🤙
