The Water Gypsies of Barisal (3).jpg

Shot over a three day period whilst floating through the Sundarbans

Early morning sun rises, time doesn't stop for local folk, produce to get to market.

The low lying mists gave an other worldly feel to the area, the air warm to us westerners, the locals wrapped up in heavier clothing.

Often decanting from the boat to sit and settle in a smaller boat, we had hitched to the back, so as to venture into the less wide and shallower waters in search of the Bengal tiger who makes the Sundarbans its home, and who was sadly camera shy

Taking to high viewing points still never saw any, though we did see some tiger shit which was extremely uninteresting.

So calm quiet and peaceful, I am told the silence was broken only by the occasional bird cry or monkey chatter.

Reflections

One of the benefits of sticking ones elbows out means ya get the best wooden plank to sit on and ya don't get photo-bombed.

When the light was good the water still some nice reflections were seen and snapped

Great photos - I love the reflection photos. The photos with the low hanging mist brought me back to the River Ganges. Like you said it felt outer worldly and surreal.

Your blogs of Bangladesh, has been going through my old photos. 😀

Thanks @momogrow always appreciate your positive vibes, good to share wanderlust with a fellow traveller. Maybe I will find some time to share distant memories of travels before I was welcomed into the hive,
