The Views of the Lindi Bog

It's so good to watch my summer shots and remember the trips I took when the weather was warm and sunny. So, back to the trip I took with some of my friends back in July in southwestern Estonia. Hopefully, you have seen my previous posts about this trip because this is a follow-up to those.

On our route, we decided to make a stop next to the bog, which is named Lindi bog, not too far from the Estonian summer capital of Pärnu city. Lindi Nature Conservation Area has a ton of beautiful forested areas, and this wetland I want to bring out today.

Usually, when I visit wetlands and bogs, there are wooden trails built in the bogs to actually walk there. This time it was not the case, unfortunately. Lindi Bog does not have a trail that goes through the wetland, so I can only watch it from the watchtower. It's a shame because I bet it would be really interesting to explore this one on foot and up close.

At the side of the bog, there is a wooden watchtower you can climb to gain a bit better view over the expansive areas of the bog. The tower is very close to the paved road, so getting there does not require any effort of hiking.

If you like to pick berries, then this place is great for it, I heard. In the summer time, you can find a lot of blueberries and lingonberries in there. During the autumn, there should be a ton of mushrooms to be found.

Fortunately, the most scenic little bog lakes are located right next to the edge of the bog, where I was able to see them. As you saw in the first photo and this one below. I loved the summer evening lighting to take these shots.

Here are some views taken on the tower where I was able to get a better look over the bogscape itself. Since there are no trails in the bog, it really is an untouched wilderness.

There are no hills back there. This is a flat landscape and a regular forest where the trees get taller gradually. The more boggy and wet the ground is, the shorter the trees get. This is just a great example of this, and it really does look like a hill in the middle of the bog. Zooming in a bit closer to this.

I would have loved to spend more time in the area and take a bit longer walk along the borders of the wetland. The forest with this lighting looked like it's literally begging me to see more there is to. We did have a bit of a struggle with time because we had to make it to the city of Pärnu before sundown, where also our accommodation was for the night.

I will definitely make a trip there in the future to explore these areas on my own and more thoroughly at some point.
I have more interesting places lined up that we visited during this summer trip, so stay tuned!

The advantage of summer is that when we go to a place with such a scenic view, there is a cool breeze blowing and the atmosphere is calm.

I like this place, we can do berries picking and mushrooms too. The place was very quiet and good place to recharge ourselves with the stunning view.
