Mountain Skiing in Incredible Austrian Alps
Back in January, I went to the Austrian Alps for a week to mountain ski with friends. A lot of awesome time was had as always. Skiing down some slopes is one of the best activities to do for sure. I can also confidently say that the Alps are for sure the best place to ski in Europe. There are a lot of different slopes, high mountains and no shortage of different ski resorts. This time we were in Zell Am See and nearby areas, in the Salzburg area.
Here in this post, I have some shots I took during my time there. All the photos are taken with a phone because I don't carry a real camera with me while skiing. Dont want to fall and break it in half.
We also had an absolutely amazing accommodation between the mountains and this was our view out of the dining room window.
Let's get to some amazing views I captured over the several days. We spent 5 days in total on the mountain skiing. Out of 5 days, 4 were fully sunny and beautiful. Only the first day was cloud-covered.
Me with a cross. These crosses mark a lot of the local mountain tops in the Alps.
Unlike the last time in France's Alps when our faces burned due to UV, we were smarter this time and used sun protection creams. The sunny days were absolutely gorgeous to see long distances over the landscapes.
This is taken off-trail. I went off the trail alone sometimes, the others stuck to the marked trails only.
A sunrise we had one morning. It was such a gorgeous sight.
A church, high up on a mountain.
The top of Salzburg at 3029 meters above sea level. This is the highest point we got to on our ski trip.
This is just a fraction of the photos I uploaded here but no need to over-upload. These are most of the gorgeous places we saw and the views we experienced. We also did one rest day which was not a rest day for me. I went hiking alone in the mountains and will make a post about that soon too, stay tuned!
I can't wait to ski mountains again next season!

So beautiful! Even with a phone camera it still looks pretty amazing. That living room view 😭 I would love to sit there and get lost with my thoughts haha
Yess that was so nice. One more photo for you. They got lost in their thoughts there haha

Wow even the condensation on the glass looks artsy af. So beautiful! If that were my last view seconds before dying I would gladly accept it hahah
As someone who lives in tropical country the place was so magnificent!
It sure is!

I have heard and read a lot about the beauty of Australia, and I also want to visit all the rare places there and see the beautiful historical places.
Austria not Australia
Stunning photographs! The conditions look amazing, nice trip! I love alpine skiing also, it is one of my favorite sports. Lift tickets are crazy expensive here in the USA, so these days, I'm only getting on the slopes when my dad plans a family ski trip.
I've never skied the Austrian Alps, only Swiss and French. I much preferred the lifestyle in Switz than France. But all things being equal, I think I would prefer to ski the Utah Rockies than the Swiss Alps. Maybe I will get to experience Austrian Alps soon.
Thank you! Lift tickets are crazy indeed. It was something like 350EUR for 5 days. I don't know US prices but I can imagine that prices are the same or even higher.
Overall Alps in every country look and feel pretty much the same haha. The only difference is the culture in the specific country 😁. I would love to try out skiing in the States too.
70/day is a bargain compared to the USA. Most of the big name resorts in Colorado and Utah are over $200/day! They've completely inflated the prices ofe individual day tickets to shift the skiing community to buy season passes instead of lift tickets.
