Bishop's Castle
In Colorado, there is a place called Bishop's Castle. A guy named Jim Bishop has been building it for the last 50 years on his family land but I'm not too sure if it is still being built. As I understood, it was his dream to own a castle. Well, he made it and he lets everybody visit it!
It wasn't a planned visit for us but since we had some time left, we decided to choose a route this place is located right next to and give this a visit.
The castle features 3 floors and you can visit every room inside.
Inside you can find some larger rooms with colorful windows.
You can also climb to the towers above and use these extremely shady staircases. These were so wobbly and shaky lol and everyone I heard there was scared haha, I was no exception. It felt like the staircases would crumble and I would fall 3 stories down. Well, I hope they would close these if they really were unsafe.
Here are a couple of photos taken from the top. The view of the landscape was quite nice.
You can quite clearly see that money is probably a problem and funds to build it have not been unlimited. Most of the structures look quite cheaply done. Still, the guy has a castle 😅.
It's quite a unique building to see so if you happen to travel to Colorado and are driving nearby then it's definitely worth having a quick look and seeing someone's dream come true.

What a unique place. Those staircases do look a little shady, not sure I could force myself to go out there. lol. Also looking at that first photo the castle looks kind of close to that exposed hillside. Maybe just the perspective but kind of looks like a slide hazard. Thanks for sharing!
I definitely hesitated but still went lol.
That hillside should pose no danger, it seems closer than it really is.
Yeah, I used to live on a hillside so I look at all of them as being sketchy. haha.
Bishop castle been built for 50 years. That is really many years
Yeah well, limited funds but still wants to get it done, takes a ton of time.
Wow that's soo beautiful place. Lovely looking at cool in pleasant weather. You enjoy your day that's nice 👍
Indeed a cool place.
This castle looks great, I hope it is finished soon and that it is not dangerous for its visitors. The view from above is very nice. Great shots btw, thanks for sharing @greddyforce friend!

The castle looks beautiful. I don't think I will climb on those staircase if I ever find myself there😀
I saw many people that didn't go on the stairs, I cant blame em 😀.

This is an interesting dream.. yeah, it is a castle, yeah, it is impressive, but it's not very charming 😂 I'm not sure if I would dare to climb the towers 😯
My thoughts exactly 😀. Well, he did whatever was possible to make his dream come true, gotta respect that.
There was a section I did not go on, that looked extremely shaky.
Thats quite an intriguing castle ! Fair play on the guy who decided to build himself one !

Yeah. At least he got what he wished for, a castle 😀
Such an old and beautiful place and where it is very nice to see the natural attractions and the history of such a place, I myself am very fond of visiting such places and Whenever there is time I also go to similar beautiful places of my city with my friends and one relaxes a lot by going here.
It's not old, it's built in the last 50 years by a guy who wanted to own a castle.
Ok. Its looks so beautiful.
