Back to Spring, Coastal Walk
Let's go back to the Spring for a sec and look at the Laulasmaa beach. It is located about 30 minutes from where I live. I have been there many times to play disc golf or just to take a walk on the coast. All the other times, I had gone to walk in the other direction. This time I chose the way I had never gone before.
It was the start of May and the weather had just gotten relatively warm. It was great to feel summer approaching.
Is it a sandy or rocky beach? I don't know, 50/50 I would say. There are some large boulders that glaciers once carried here, as you can see in the photo above.
In the photo below, you can see the sandy coastal hill. Usually, we see sandstone cliffs, but this looks like it's made of loose sand only.
I think I walked about 30 minutes along the coast in the direction that I took. The weather was pretty overcast and this lighting usually doesn't make the best photos. But often it's not always about taking the best photos everywhere I go, it's just about pushing the shutter button and getting what I can get because I like to do it.
When I decided to turn back, I went into the coastal forest so I didn't have to walk back exactly where I came from. Some quite majestic pine trees grow on those sandy shores.
I do have a couple of standalone photos from another location that is near my home, taken a couple of days after the previous photos you see here. I'm just going to add these too for a little extra. Taken on my way down from a limestone coastal cliff. Trees had just begun to grow leaves.
Beautiful. The beaches on the Oregon coast have forests right by them too. It is very cool, especially when I grew up in San Diego and there were only palm trees at the beach.
I have seen photos of Oregon coast. One of my friends went there too, its beautiful there for sure.
That sounds like such a peaceful walk. I love how you described the change of seasons and the beauty of the beach with the sandy hills and tall pines. Taking photos in any weather really shows how much you enjoy capturing nature’s simple but beautiful moments.
Yeah, I do enjoy taking phots always. But tough times for photographing will come in November and December😃
