There are days when I stop to think about my destiny of documenting the street. It's strange how something that goes unnoticed by many people manages to captivate me so much. I walk through the city and it seems like my eyes are constantly searching for something, as if every corner has a hidden story waiting for the right moment to be seen.

Tem dias que eu paro pra pensar nessa minha sina de registrar a rua. É estranho como algo que pra muita gente passa despercebido consegue me prender tanto. Eu ando pela cidade e parece que meus olhos ficam procurando alguma coisa o tempo todo, como se cada esquina tivesse uma história escondida esperando o momento certo pra ser vista.

Street photography is very much about that; it's about being present. It's about walking without knowing exactly what you'll find, but with that feeling that at any moment something unique could happen in front of you. An exchange of glances, a person lost in their own thoughts, a shadow falling in just the right place, a simple everyday scene that may never exist again in that way.

A fotografia de rua tem muito disso, é sobre estar presente. É caminhar sem saber exatamente o que vai encontrar, mas com aquela sensação de que a qualquer momento pode acontecer algo único na sua frente. Uma troca de olhar, uma pessoa perdida nos próprios pensamentos, uma sombra batendo no lugar certo, uma cena simples do cotidiano que talvez nunca mais exista daquele jeito.

While most people are rushing around, chasing their goals, trying to get through another day, the camera ends up being my way of pausing time for a while. The street is full of contrasts: there are people dreaming, fighting, working, surviving, celebrating small victories… all happening at the same time, in the same space.

Enquanto a maioria das pessoas está na correria, indo atrás dos seus objetivos, tentando vencer mais um dia, a câmera acaba sendo meu jeito de parar um pouco esse tempo. A rua é cheia de contrastes: tem gente sonhando, lutando, trabalhando, sobrevivendo, comemorando pequenas vitórias… tudo acontecendo ao mesmo tempo, no mesmo espaço.

And perhaps that's what fascinates me most: perceiving beauty where many people have become accustomed to not looking. A wall marked by time, a worn sidewalk, a person waiting for the bus, any movement amidst the chaos. The city is alive all the time, it changes every second, it tells stories without needing to say a word.

E talvez seja isso que mais me fascina: perceber beleza onde muita gente já se acostumou a não olhar. Um muro marcado pelo tempo, uma calçada desgastada, uma pessoa esperando o ônibus, um movimento qualquer no meio do caos. A cidade está viva o tempo inteiro, ela muda a cada segundo, ela conta histórias sem precisar dizer uma palavra.

Sometimes it even seems like I repeat this street scene a lot in my photos, but it's because there's something there that always calls me back. It's a connection that's hard to explain. The street has its own aesthetic, it has an energy, it has a truth that can't be forced. In the end, photographing the street is much more than taking a pretty picture. It's about collecting small fragments of life, preserving moments that would probably be forgotten. It's about recording a piece of an era, a city, and the people who make it happen.

Às vezes até parece que eu repito muito esse universo das ruas nas minhas fotos, mas é porque existe algo ali que sempre me chama de volta. É uma conexão difícil de explicar. A rua tem uma estética própria, tem uma energia, tem uma verdade que não dá pra forçar. No fim, fotografar a rua é muito mais do que fazer uma imagem bonita. É colecionar pequenos fragmentos da vida, guardar momentos que provavelmente seriam esquecidos. É deixar registrado um pedaço de uma época, de uma cidade e das pessoas que fazem ela acontecer.
