Street photography has always fascinated me because of its simple way of happening. There's not much control, you can't set everything up the way you want; it's basically you walking through the city, observing and trying to perceive what happens in a few seconds.

A fotografia de rua sempre me chamou atenção pela forma simples que ela acontece. Não tem muito controle, não tem como montar tudo do jeito que você quer, é basicamente você andando pela cidade, observando e tentando perceber aquilo que acontece em alguns segundos.

It's very easy to walk through the same places every day and not notice anything. Routine makes everything kind of automatic; we walk around thinking about commitments, problems, things we need to resolve, and end up letting a lot of things pass us by. When I have a camera, that perception changes. I start paying more attention to people, movements, expressions, the marks the city carries, and the small details that are part of that scene. What I like most about street photography is precisely this unpredictability. You go out without knowing what you're going to find. Sometimes a simple scene catches my attention, sometimes it's a combination of light, a shadow, a person passing by at the right moment, or a situation that will probably never be repeated in the same way.

É muito fácil passar pelos mesmos lugares todos os dias e não reparar em nada. A rotina deixa tudo meio automático, a gente anda pensando nos compromissos, nos problemas, nas coisas que precisa resolver e acaba deixando muita coisa passar. Quando estou com uma câmera, essa percepção muda. Começo a reparar mais nas pessoas, nos movimentos, nas expressões, nas marcas que a cidade carrega e nos pequenos detalhes que fazem parte daquele cenário. O que mais gosto na fotografia de rua é justamente essa imprevisibilidade. Você sai sem saber o que vai encontrar. Às vezes uma cena simples chama atenção, às vezes é uma combinação de luz, uma sombra, uma pessoa passando no momento certo ou uma situação que provavelmente nunca vai se repetir daquela mesma forma.

It's not just about finding pretty pictures. Often, the photos that resonate with me the most are those that carry some feeling, some story, or some kind of connection with the viewer. The street has a lot of that; it shows different realities at the same time. There are people chasing their goals, people living their own battles, happy moments, difficult moments, and everything happening side by side.

Não é sobre buscar apenas imagens bonitas. Muitas vezes as fotos que mais me marcam são aquelas que carregam alguma sensação, alguma história ou algum tipo de identificação com quem olha. A rua tem muito disso, ela mostra diferentes realidades ao mesmo tempo. Tem gente correndo atrás dos seus objetivos, pessoas vivendo suas próprias batalhas, momentos felizes, momentos difíceis e tudo acontecendo lado a lado.

Street photography has become a way for me to better observe the place where I live. It's a way to preserve small fragments of the city and the people who are part of it. Each walk becomes a different experience because the street is never exactly the same. In the end, I think that's what keeps me hooked on this type of photography: the possibility of finding something interesting where many people just see another ordinary day. It's about being present, paying attention, and trying to transform these small moments into records that have some meaning.

A fotografia de rua acabou virando uma forma de observar melhor o lugar onde vivo. É uma maneira de guardar pequenos fragmentos da cidade e das pessoas que fazem parte dela. Cada caminhada vira uma experiência diferente, porque a rua nunca é exatamente a mesma. No final, acho que é isso que me prende nesse tipo de fotografia: a possibilidade de encontrar algo interessante onde muita gente só vê mais um dia comum. É estar presente, prestar atenção e tentar transformar esses pequenos momentos em registros que tenham algum significado.
