Hello Black and White #Hive friends!... Last weekend, I decided to escape my routine and seek respite by the sea. The initial idea was simple: to rest, feel the salty wind on my face, and let the sound of the waves reorganize my thoughts. But, as always happens when I take my camera with me, the tranquility ended up mixing with that almost inevitable impulse to record the world around me.

Olá amigos Preto e Branco #Hive!... No último final de semana, decidi fugir um pouco da rotina e buscar um respiro à beira-mar. A ideia inicial era simples: descansar, sentir o vento salgado no rosto e deixar o barulho das ondas reorganizar meus pensamentos. Mas, como sempre acontece quando levo a câmera comigo, a tranquilidade acabou se misturando com aquele impulso quase inevitável de registrar o mundo ao meu redor.

As soon as I arrived at the beach, I realized that day had a different energy. It was as if the sun had decided to illuminate more than just the golden sands; it was revealing stories. And I, there, between rest and observation, found myself connected to every detail.

Assim que cheguei à praia, percebi que aquele dia tinha uma energia diferente. Era como se o sol tivesse decidido iluminar mais do que só as areias douradas, ele revelava histórias. E eu, ali, entre o descanso e a observação, me vi conectado a cada detalhe.

The street vendors, with their colorful carts, formed a poetry of their own: the sound of the popsicle bells, the smell of boiled corn, the rhythmic effort of those who transform each step on the sand into work and resistance. I observed glances, gestures, spontaneous smiles exchanged between vendors and tourists. Each interaction had a human warmth that often goes unnoticed, but that day seemed to shout life.

Os ambulantes, com seus carrinhos coloridos, formavam uma poesia própria: o som dos sinos do picolé, o cheiro do milho cozido, o esforço ritmado de quem transforma cada passo na areia em trabalho e resistência. Observei olhares, gestos, sorrisos espontâneos trocados entre vendedores e turistas. Cada interação tinha um calor humano que muitas vezes passa despercebido, mas naquele dia parecia gritar vida.

Families were scattered along the beach like little islands of joy. Children running fearlessly, couples sharing a parasol, groups of friends laughing loudly—everyone seemed synchronized with that unique feeling of lightness that only a sunny day by the sea can bring. And there, between one click and another, I realized that more than photographing people, I was capturing feelings: freedom, rest, and that simple happiness that arises when we allow ourselves to exist without haste.

As famílias se espalhavam pela praia como pequenas ilhas de alegria. Crianças correndo sem medo, casais dividindo um guarda-sol, grupos de amigos rindo alto, todos pareciam sincronizados com aquela sensação única de leveza que só um dia de sol à beira do mar é capaz de trazer. E ali, entre um clique e outro, percebi que mais do que fotografar pessoas, eu estava capturando sentimentos: liberdade, descanso, e aquela felicidade simples que surge quando a gente se permite existir sem pressa.

Between dives, silences, and observations, my camera became an extension of my gaze. I gathered moments like someone collecting small treasures: everyday gestures that, when put together, tell a larger story, the story of an ordinary, yet profoundly human day.

Entre mergulhos, silêncios e observações, minha câmera virou uma extensão do meu olhar. Fui recolhendo momentos como quem coleciona pequenas preciosidades: gestos cotidianos que, reunidos, contam uma história maior, a história de um dia comum, mas profundamente humano.

In the end, I realized that the rest I was looking for was precisely in this: in the act of reconnecting with the world, of seeing beauty in simplicity and transforming a weekend at the beach into a chapter full of meaning. And as the sun bid farewell on the horizon, I felt that each photo I took carried a piece of that feeling—a vivid memory of that day when I went to rest, but returned with much more than I expected.

No fim, percebi que o descanso que eu procurava estava justamente nisso: no ato de me reconectar com o mundo, de enxergar beleza no simples e transformar um final de semana na praia em um capítulo cheio de significado. E enquanto o sol se despedia no horizonte, senti que cada foto que registrei carregava um pedaço desse sentimento — uma memória viva daquele dia em que fui para descansar, mas voltei com muito mais do que esperava.
