Street photography, for me, is not just a genre, it's a way of existing within the city. It's my way of blending into the flow, of walking without a specific destination and, at the same time, being completely attentive to everything. The street is alive, restless, unpredictable. It breathes at its own rhythm, made up of horns, hurried footsteps, revving engines, bus doors opening and closing, vendors announcing their products, traffic lights alternating the right of way. In the midst of all this, I observe. And by observing, I connect.

A fotografia de rua, para mim, não é apenas um gênero, é uma forma de existir dentro da cidade. É o meu jeito de me misturar ao fluxo, de caminhar sem destino certo e, ao mesmo tempo, estar completamente atento a tudo. A rua é viva, inquieta, imprevisível. Ela respira em um ritmo próprio, feito de buzinas, passos apressados, motores acelerando, portas de ônibus se abrindo e fechando, vendedores anunciando seus produtos, semáforos alternando o direito de ir e vir. No meio de tudo isso, eu observo. E ao observar, me conecto.

What fascinates me most is precisely the constant movement. Cars crossing the avenues as if competing for space with time, people crossing outside the crosswalk to gain a few seconds, the bus passing by full, compressing bodies and stories within the same metallic rectangle. Each face carries a silent narrative: the tired worker at the end of the day, the distracted student with headphones on, the lady who walks slowly while the rest of the world seems to rush. The city doesn't slow down for anyone, but, through the camera, I find a way to pause what is fleeting.

O que mais me fascina é justamente o movimento constante. Os carros cruzando as avenidas como se disputassem espaço com o tempo, as pessoas atravessando fora da faixa para ganhar alguns segundos, o ônibus passando cheio, comprimindo corpos e histórias dentro de um mesmo retângulo metálico. Cada rosto carrega uma narrativa silenciosa: o trabalhador cansado no fim do dia, o estudante distraído com fones no ouvido, a senhora que caminha devagar enquanto o restante do mundo parece correr. A cidade não desacelera para ninguém, mas, através da câmera, eu encontro uma forma de pausar o que é passageiro

The chaotic traffic, which for many is just stress, for me is expression. It's a disorganized choreography, yet harmonious nonetheless. There's an invisible design in the red lights reflected on the wet asphalt, in the rearview mirrors that multiply the landscape, in the shadows cast between tall buildings. There is beauty in the repetition of daily life. There is poetry in the routine that repeats itself every day, but never in the same way.

O trânsito caótico, que para muitos é apenas estresse, para mim é expressão. É coreografia desorganizada, mas ainda assim harmônica. Há um desenho invisível nos faróis vermelhos refletidos no asfalto molhado, nos retrovisores que multiplicam a paisagem, nas sombras projetadas entre prédios altos. Existe beleza na repetição do cotidiano. Existe poesia na rotina que se repete todos os dias, mas nunca da mesma forma.

Photographing the street is about accepting the unpredictable. There is no absolute control. The light changes suddenly, someone crosses the frame at the last second, a gesture that seemed commonplace transforms into something unique. It's a constant exercise in attention and sensitivity. I'm not just recording what I see; I'm interpreting what I feel in response to what happens. The camera becomes an extension of my gaze and, at the same time, a filter of my perception.

Fotografar a rua é aceitar o imprevisível. Não há controle absoluto. A luz muda de repente, alguém atravessa o enquadramento no último segundo, o gesto que parecia comum se transforma em algo único. É um exercício constante de atenção e sensibilidade. Eu não estou apenas registrando o que vejo; estou interpretando o que sinto diante do que acontece. A câmera se torna extensão do meu olhar e, ao mesmo tempo, filtro da minha percepção.

There is also a sense of belonging. When walking through the streets, I am not just an observer, I am part of the scenery. I feel the heat of the asphalt, I hear the sound of the brakes, I follow the rhythm of the footsteps. Photography allows me to transform this sensory experience into an image, to freeze fragments of time that would otherwise disappear in the speed of everyday life. Each click is an attempt to preserve the intensity of that instant.

Existe também uma relação de pertencimento. Ao caminhar pelas ruas, eu não sou apenas observador, sou parte do cenário. Sinto o calor do asfalto, escuto o ruído dos freios, acompanho o ritmo dos passos. A fotografia me permite transformar essa experiência sensorial em imagem, congelar fragmentos de tempo que, de outra forma, desapareceriam na velocidade do dia a dia. Cada clique é uma tentativa de preservar a intensidade daquele instante.

The more I photograph, the more I cling to this urban atmosphere. Because the street is real. It doesn't stage, it doesn't prepare a scene, it doesn't rehearse expression. Everything happens spontaneously, in the now. And it's in this now that I find meaning. Street photography, for me, is about humanity in motion. It's about chaos that reveals order, about haste that hides dreams, about concrete that shelters vibrant lives.

Quanto mais eu fotografo, mais me apego a essa atmosfera urbana. Porque a rua é verdadeira. Ela não encena, não prepara cenário, não ensaia expressão. Tudo acontece no improviso, no agora. E é nesse agora que encontro significado. A fotografia de rua, para mim, é sobre humanidade em movimento. É sobre caos que revela ordem, sobre pressa que esconde sonhos, sobre concreto que abriga vidas pulsantes.
