Greetings, dear Wednesday walking community! I hope you’ve enjoyed a day full of joy and blessings.

Today, I’m back with you to share some photos from a walk I took through a town in Lara State called Siquisique, where I recently visited and took the opportunity to capture several images of its streets, houses, and people.

It was a fairly sunny morning, and in the intense heat, I set out on foot from my mother-in-law’s home to the town hospital. I accompanied my wife as she went through the painful paperwork required for her mother’s death certificate.

In that town, the only modes of transportation are on foot or by motorcycle, since there are no taxis or shared taxis. For this reason, wherever we walked, we always saw motorcycles passing by or parked, as shown in the photographs.

Although the sites aren’t that far apart, the walk becomes a bit uncomfortable due to the intense heat felt throughout the town under a harsh sun that is at its brightest this time of year. So much so that at eight in the morning, the sun felt like it was at its peak at noon.

However, as we made our way along, I enjoyed the walk by taking pictures of the streets and some important landmarks, such as the municipal government building, the agricultural bank, several shops, Bolívar Square, the facades of some colonial-style homes, and finally the town hospital.

In a previous post, I gave you a general overview of this town and its surrounding areas, and I mentioned that it’s quite far from the city, which has contributed to its limited development and slow progress. However, it’s a very pleasant place to live; the people are down-to-earth and supportive of one another. Whatever happens in one part of town is known throughout the village in no time at all, which has the positive side effect that people rush to help whoever is in need at that moment.

Una caminata por el pueblo de Siquisique

Saludos estimada comunidad caminante de los miércoles,espero hayan disfrutado de un día lleno de alegría y bendiciones.

Hoy de nuevo con ustedes les comparto imágenes de una caminata que hice por un poblado del estado Lara llamado Siquisique, donde recientemente estuve de visita y aproveché de captar varias imágenes de sus calles, sus casas y su gente.

Fue una mañana bastante soleada y bajo un fuerte calor que inicié la caminata desde la residencia de mi suegra hasta el hospital del pueblo. Acompañé a mi esposa a realizar los dolorosos trámites correspondientes al acta de fallecimiento de su mamá.

En ese pueblo solo se cuenta con el transporte a pie o en moto, ya que no existen los taxis o carros por puesto. Por esta razón dondequiera que caminamos siempre aparecían motorizados transitando o motos estacionadas, tal como se aprecia en las fotografías.

Aunque los sitios no están tan distantes uno del otro, la caminata se hace un poco incómoda por el fuerte calor que se siente en todo el pueblo bajo un inclemente sol que en esta temporada está mas radiante. Tal es así que a las ocho de la mañana el sol parecía el de mediodía.

Sin embargo, a medida que avanzamos, iba recreando la caminata captando imágenes de las calles y de algunos lugares importantes como la alcaldía del municipio, el banco agrícola, algunos locales comerciales, la plaza bolívar, las fachadas de algunas viviendas coloniales y finalmente el hospital del pueblo.

En una anterior publicación les hice una descripción general de este pueblo y de los sectores mas cercanos, y allí les decía que es un sitio bastante alejado de la ciudad, lo cual ha influido en su bajo desarrollo y escaso progreso. Sin embargo, es un lugar muy agradable para vivir, la gente es muy sencilla y solidaria entre sí. Lo que sucede en alguna parte, se sabe en todo el pueblo en tiempo record, lo cual tiene como lado positivo, que la gente se vuelca a prestar ayuda a quien la está necesitando en ese momento.
