Greetings dear friends of the @wednesdaywalk community, it is very pleasing for me to write again in this Wednesday walk. I hope you are doing well.

This week I went to downtown Barquisimeto to take my wife to the state governor's office, where she works.

I parked the vehicle in one of the cross streets, two blocks from the site, to avoid being fined because there is a prohibition to park in the streets near this government building.

She was going up to her work and was going to bring me some documents she had in her office, so I had to wait for her and knowing her I knew it was going to be a long wait.

So I decided to get out of the car and as the morning was cool because it had rained and the sun was just warming up and with a lot of breeze, I went to walk a few blocks through the area.

There I stopped to contemplate the recently built Banyan building where there is a commercial store that seemed very modern for its design and its bright colors.

As I walked I noticed that there were few people on the street, only a few passersby, street vendors and people at the bus stops.

I walked two blocks along carrera 19 and stopped right in front of the governor's office.

The governor's office is a modern brown building that has a nice design and stands out in the block where it is located.

There in front is a square that we know as Plaza de la Moneda, but it is actually a square in honor of General Pedro Leon Torres, whose bust is placed in the center of it. I must confess that if it were not for taking pictures, I would not have noticed the existence of this bust, although I have passed by it many times.

In that square, for as long as I can remember, there has been a used book sale, and now the government has built shelves for them to store their books and not as before, when they were piled up in boxes and wooden boards.

I really like it and can spend hours perusing these kiosks with the books that catch my eye, because the vendors allow you to browse and review them even if you don't buy them.

I spent about half an hour there looking through these science books and continued my walk along Carrera 18, where there was a lot of traffic. I went one block in the opposite direction and arrived back where the car was parked.

There I sat and waited for quite a while until my wife arrived to give me the documents. So I was able to take advantage of the time, take pictures, do some exercise, review books and still had time left over until my wife arrived.

Un breve paseo de los miércoles por el centro de la ciudad

Saludos estimados amigos de la comunidad @wednesdaywalk, es muy grato para mi volver a escribir en este paseo de los miércoles. Espero se encuentren muy bien.

Esta semana me trasladé al centro de Barquisimeto a llevar a mi esposa a la gobernación del estado, donde ella labora.

Estacioné el vehículo en una de las calles transversales, a dos cuadras del sitio, para evitar ser multado porque hay prohibición de estacionarse en las calles cercanas a este edificio gubernamental.

Ella iba a subir a su trabajo y me iba a traer unos documentos que tenia en su oficina, así que debía esperarla y conociéndola sabia que la espera iba a ser larga.

Entonces decidí salir del carro y como la mañana estaba fresca porque había llovido y el sol estaba apenas calentando y con mucha brisa, me fui a caminar una pocas cuadras por el sector.

Allí me detuve a contemplar el edificio Banyan de reciente construcción donde funciona un local comercial que me pareció muy moderno por su diseño y sus llamativos colores.

Mientras caminaba observaba que había poca gente en la calle, sólo se veían algunos transeúntes, vendedores ambulantes y gente en las paradas de autobús.

Recorrí dos cuadras de la carrera 19 y me detuve justo en frente de la gobernación.

La sede de la gobernación es un moderno edificio color marrón que tiene un bonito diseño y resalta en la cuadra donde está ubicado.

Allí al frente está una plaza que conocemos como plaza de la moneda, pero en realidad es una plaza en honor al general Pedro León Torres y cuyo busto está colocado en el centro de la misma. Debo confesarles que de no ser por andar tomando fotografías, no me habría percatado de la existencia de este busto, a pesar que he pasado por allí muchas veces.

En dicha plaza, desde que tengo uso de razón ha funcionado una venta de libros usados y actualmente, el gobierno les construyó unos estantes para que acomodaran sus libros y no como antes que los presentaban amontonados en cajas y tablas de madera.

Me gusta mucho y puedo pasar horas revisando estos quioscos con los libros que llaman mi atención, porque los vendedores permiten hojearlos y revisarlos aunque no los compres.

Pues me entretuve allí como media hora revisando estos libros de ciencias y continué mi caminata por la carrera 18, donde había bastante flujo de vehículos. Recorrí una cuadra en sentido contrario y llegue nuevamente donde estaba estacionado el carro.

Allí me senté a esperar un buen rato hasta que mi esposa llegó para entregarme los documentos. Así que pude aprovechar el tiempo, tomar fotografías, hacer algo de ejercicio, revisar libros y todavía me sobró tiempo hasta que mi esposa llegara.
