Heron and Pigeon

In Myanmar, there are fish ponds within the precincts of important pagodas and temples.
The fish are not raised for consumption, but rather
for the purpose of feeding the pilgrims.

Pigeons and some herons can also be seen around the pond.
The pigeons come to pick up the fish food offered by the pilgrims and eat it.
However, some of the herons probably come to catch and eat the small fish in the pond.

I also took photos of the birds I saw around the pond during my pilgrimage to share them with the Feathered Friends Community.

မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ၌ အထင်ကရ စေတီဘုရားများ၏ ပရဝုဏ်အတွင်း ငါးကန် ရှိတတ်ကြပါသည်။
ငါးများကို စားသုံးရန် မွေးမြူထားခြင်း မဟုတ်ပါ။
ဘုရားဖူးလာရောက်ကြသူများ ကုသိုလ်ဖြစ် အစာကျွေးနိုင်ရန် မွေးမြူထားသော ငါးများ ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

ထိုငါးကန် ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်၌ ခို နှင့် ဗျိုင်းငှက်အချို့ကိုလည်း တွေ့မြင်ရတတ်ပါသည်။
ခိုငှက်များက ဘုရားဖူးများ ကျွေးသည့် ငါးစာ ကို ကောက်ယူစားရန် လာရောက်နေကြခြင်း ဖြစ်သည်။
သို့သော် ဗျိုင်းငှက်အချို့ကတော့ ကန် ထဲက ငါးငယ်လေးများကို ဖမ်းယူစားရန် လာကြခြင်း ဖြစ်ပါမည်။

ကျွန်တော်ကလည်း ဘုရားဖူးရောက်စဉ် ငါးကန် ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်၌ တွေ့မြင်ရသော ငှက်များကို Feathered Friends Community ၌ ဖော်ပြရန် ရည်ရွယ်ပြီး ဓာတ်ပုံရိုက်ယူခဲ့ပါသည်။
