The Beautiful Blue of Kraljevica

Today's post contains photos from a recent trip to the northern Adriatic, specifically to Kraljevica, one of the blue pearls of the northern Adriatic. In Kraljevica, the sea is not just a backdrop – it is the heart of the city. The blueness surrounding this small coastal jewel in the northern Adriatic changes from hour to hour: from gentle turquoise in the morning silence to a deep, almost royal blue in the evening. Located at the entrance to the Bay of Bakar, opposite the island of Krk, it also enjoys a special position where the open sea and the calmer bay waters meet. This combination gives the sea incredible clarity – in the summer months, the view through the surface reaches deep, revealing a rocky bottom and the flickering light under the waves.
