Starigrad Castle on the Dobra River//MONOMAD CHALLENGE

Good morning dear Friends in the Black And White Community 🙌📸

On my journey through Karlovac County, which you have already had the opportunity to see in the last few posts, it was my turn to visit this imposing castle. Its position alone is so powerful that it cannot be bypassed. And it would be a shame to pass by and not stop by. Otherwise, the castle is Located above the peaceful Dobra River, it is one of those places where history and nature perfectly intertwine. This medieval fortress, built in the 13th century, guarded the approach to Karlovac for centuries and witnessed turbulent historical events. Today, although partially in ruins, Starigrad still enchants with its walls, views of the river and a mystical atmosphere that takes you back to ancient times. It is an ideal place for a short trip, a walk and an escape from everyday life. I heard that the roof on one of the towers recently burned down, due to carelessness and negligence. The castle then received new roofs on the towers, but in accordance with the condition before the fire.
