Visiting The Paradisiacal Place in Lamesahan Beach

I have recently shared here with our Community about my trip to the mountainous part of Manticao, Misamis Oriental that we call Bandera, One of the high mountains that can be seen in such an area. Today, we will go to the vast and beautiful area of ​​Lamesahan located at the border of Barangay Calangahan and Barangay Punta Silum. This place is a paradise and a perfect place to visit especially during this summer season. But before I continue my travel blog for today it is better that we know the right place first.

Location:

Lamesahan has many beautiful views especially the ocean or beach located here. It is quite far from the National road and it is necessary to walk a few meters to reach the place. If we start traveling to Barangay Poblacion Manticao, the trip will take about 35 minutes depending on road traffic. Lamesahan is just near the cellsite towers of the area. The area is also close to Barangay Calangahan which is a neighboring area here in the Lamisan area. In fact, people from the said Barangay can just walk here to see the beauty of the place.

Some of the places that can be seen here are the huge and towering stones like walls. These types of rocks found here are called Pagan and when submerged in seawater, I call them Corals where sea plants grow. There are different types of animals such as snakes, insects that burrow in the holes on the side of the rocks. Due to the long time, various types of plants and trees have grown, causing it to be covered with plants. There are big tree roots wrapped around the big rocks and it gives beautiful views of the area.

The place is clean so it's very nice to see and pleasant. The crystal clear sea water and the blue color reflected from the sky add to the beauty of the place. It was lucky for me because the sun was shining and the weather was good and the sea was at low tide so you could actually see the surface of the area sinking at high tide.

There are huge rocks that can be seen here, and usually there are hidden fish, shrimp, crabs and sea shells. When the tide is low, many people come here to pick and find sea shells, crabs, shrimps and fish. I have collected some stories about this place, especially some parts of the place. According to history, the Name Lamesahan is derived from the large and wide stones found on the beach in the shape of a table.

I would like to share a few stories about the place I went to. During the second world war, this area used to be a passage for people who wanted to avoid armed groups walking on the National highway. It also serves as a shortcut for people and used to be the Bay walk. In recent times, the sea water has gradually increased due to climate change, causing the water to overtake the bay walk and eventually sink. The black colors that can be seen on the rocks used to be a concrete and asphalt road for people, but it has sunk and been destroyed due to the strong waves that hit it. The former paved and concrete road is now inhabited by various species of animals such as crabs, shrimps and sea shells. There are rock pools that can be seen here at low tide and pebbles that add to the beauty of the place.

Coconut trees can be seen on the edge of the beach and close to the cliffs. The landowners did not plant it, but the coconuts flooded the beach due to heavy flooding and big waves. Many years passed and they grew and bore fruit. Some of the coconut trees were leaning due to the strong winds experienced there so people avoided climbing the coconut trees in the area.

Lamesahan is a good place to visit especially when the weather is hot. Many people like to come here to paddle in the very clean and cold sea water. During my visit to the place, I tried to go into the water and I could feel its coldness and it was very clear water and I could see the bottom part of it.

A few trees can be seen here. This helps to maintain the beauty and freshness of the area. Many people relax here while watching the beauty of the sunset and the beach. One of the trees that can be seen here is the Balete, this tree is old according to the rumors of the elders who live near it. Romblon is also a type of plant and its sharp leaves can be made into mats. It also helps to keep the place from getting hot and people who want to travel and come here have something to rest. I walked on the beach for almost 1 hour and my going to and from the place was successful.
