Bonding With Nature at Barangay Paniangan Riverside

A wonderful day I had during my visit at Paniangan River. Actually this is a part of Bodies of water here in Manticao and there are lots of places were this river connected and some Barangays here in Manticao are near at the river. There are lots of stories about this place and aside of that, there are lots of tourists who came from far places likes to visit and take lots of pictures of the river. Manticao river particularly in the parts of Barangay Paniangan, Manticao Misamis Oriental is quitely far from Provincial road and urbanized place. It needs to walked a few meters away and it takes almost an hour of walking adventure before reaching the place. This bodies of water gives a great contributions in terms of agricultural activities, it contributes fertile soil and aside of that a wonderful views at the place.

Some of the stories behind of this river was the erosions happens every flood occurs. According to the residents who lives near at the river for many years already, there are some parts of the dry land already turned into river. This place was once a dry land were lots of big and tall trees can be seen and found that day. But as the soil keeps collapsing and have erosions, the big trees are already flashed away due to big floods, and the place keeps expanding. The dry soil is completely turned into a water channel and lots of rocks and sands can be seen and found.

This big and tall trees are once at the top of the dry place but as the soil keeps collapsing, some of it are already near at the river and at the side of cliffs. Some of the trees are leaning to the river but despite of that, it gives a great contributions of the place just like shady and cool areas. Aside of that lots of wild animals like birds inhabited here. There are also lots of big rocks and it has been washed out from the mountain top all tge way down here due to big floods.

As the erosions keeps happening here, resulting that there are some small springs was found. According to the residents here, this pile of big rocks near at the big roots was once a spring and native people always come here just to fetched water. But as the intense heat happens here, the spring was completely dried added with the soil erosions resulting that the spring also destroyed. Now, the cliff is already covered with lots of roots and some wild grass and it can hardly to find.

Near at the spring is the place were lots of tall trees grows, aside of that lots of vines almost covered the cliff. This cliff was once a road trail and served as a shortcut to all residents if they want to fetched lots of water at the spring. But it was completely abandoned many years ago as the native people vanished near at this areas. The road trail is now covered with wild grass and dry leaves and it will be dangerous to pass by here because of dangerous insects like wasps.

This cave-like views at the cliff was once a channel of water flows here every flooding situations. This hole is connected at the big hole at the top of the dry place and it also attached to the river. Because of the thick wild grass grows here, the cave-like is hardly to found because it is already covered with palm grass.

Wild flowers also grows at the place and everytime when there is no floods, this areas are covered with lots of wild flowers and it gives a great colorful views. This wild flowers are very common here in the place but very attractive because of its colors and styles.
