My Trip to Tam Đảo: A Hidden Gem Revisited

🌷 Where did I go in Tam Đảo?

Even though I’ve visited Tam Đảo multiple times, each experience has been uniquely different. My previous trips were with family, mostly for sightseeing and relaxation, covering the usual spots like Quảng Trường and Stone Church before retreating to the homestay. To be honest, I always thought Tam Đảo was nothing special. This was my fourth visit, and based on my previous experiences, combined with my friends' opinions—like "Tam Đảo isn't anything extraordinary" or "The food is expensive and not great"—I wasn't exactly looking forward to it.

But this time, I was lucky to have a passionate local guide (she was basically like a tour guide) who showed us around. This changed everything—I ended up falling in love with Tam Đảo and found myself apologizing repeatedly for underestimating this place. I used to scoff at the idea of spending money to visit here again, but now, I can’t wait to return (I feel so guilty for my past judgments!).

🌷 Below is a brief summary of my 1-day, 1-night trip, along with some tips and impressions. I hope those who haven’t been here will give it a try, and if you’ve been before but weren’t impressed, consider revisiting—you might end up loving it!

At 10 AM, I visited "Trạm Hoàng Hôn," which was just a short walk from our hotel. The owner was friendly, the café was spacious, and the décor was beautifully done. Although the weather wasn't great that day, the view was still incredible. It felt like I was in a fairytale as the clouds parted, revealing the castle with the sun coming through—it was simply amazing. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced, similar to what you'd pay for coffee in Hanoi.

At 10 PM, we headed out once again, this time to chase the clouds and take in the panoramic view of the city at night. The air was crisp, and as we ascended to the lookout point, the lights of the town below twinkled like a sea of stars. The sky was painted with layers of mist, creating a mystical atmosphere that made the city feel both vast and intimate at the same time. Standing there, wrapped in the cool night air, we watched as the clouds slowly rolled in, enveloping the landscape in a soft, dreamlike veil. The experience was surreal—like watching a hidden world reveal itself under the cover of darkness. Every moment felt cinematic, and it was one of those rare instances where the beauty of nature left us speechless. If you ever visit, this is a sight you absolutely must not miss; it's an unforgettable blend of tranquility and awe.

Thank you all for reading, and I hope to see you again in my next post!
