DIY// I designed a floral silk blouse and skirt

Happy Sunday beautiful hivers!

Hope you are all having a fun-filled and well-relaxed weekend. It's another episode of the creative Sunday edition, thanks to the hive learners community for providing us with this opportunity to showcase our creativity/ talents, and also for the encouragement and support.

Today, I will be sharing with us the process of how I made a simple yet stylish two-piece outfit, a blouse, and a skirt, made with a delicate silky fabric, one thing I love about this fabric is how soft and comfy it is on the skin and if you are a lady here that likes to look stylish in comfortable wears, this style and fabric is one I can recommend to you. Wondering where you can rock the style, just think of any casual outing, hanging out with friends, the mall, the cinema, etc.

Without further ado, let's get right into the DIY process.

Materials/Tools Used

  • Silk fabric
  • Thread
  • Zipper

Scissors, tape rule, and a sewing machine.

PROCESS

Step 1

I started by drafting the front and back pattern of the blouse

Step 2

Next, I joined the front and back pattern by the shoulders and also turned the neckline using a facing at the front and piping the back after creating a slit for easy passage of the head.

Step 3
I added a button to the back bodice.

Step 4

Next, I draft the sleeves pattern, which is a flutter sleeve.

Step 5

To finish the blouse, I joined the sleeves to the blouse, joined both sides, and hemmed the base.

Step 6

For the skirt, I drafted the pattern for both the front and back

Step 7

IMG_20230711_165327_817.jpg

I added strips for the knot at the front on both sides of the front pattern.

Step 8

Finally, I joined the front and back pattern together and also added a waistband and zipper at the back.

My two-piece outfit is ready, to make the knot at the front more prominent, I tucked the blouse in and I can tie the strips into different fashionable knots, for example a bow knot, like I used in the picture.

What do you think of this outfit, and what other suggestions of places you can rock it to? I will appreciate a feedback in the comment section.

Fantastic job, I feel like this is easier than those big styles. I have finally found something that I can sew after a long time, I am qualified to be called a tailor after all your tutorials.

Nice job.

This silk print is already attractive and apart from the print you have stitched and designed it very well. I wonder if adding a fancy belt would make it fashionable.

There is no limit to fashion, if adding a belt is your fancy, by all means go for it.

Thanks for stopping by @ayesha-malik 🤗

I won't say more about the outfit because I have almost zero knowledge about outfits of ladies. It's looking good to see the outfit.
Seeing the steps it giving me the feeling that it's easy but I know very well that it's a very difficult task for me and I can't do it.
The good thing is that you passed your Sunday with some creative tasks and made the day productive.
