Good morning everyone,

I'm happy to share with us my recent painting. This is a painting I made for a friend in fulfillment of my promise on his birthday. He’s been such a kind person to me and since I don’t have much to give him as gift, I decided to make a painting for him. When I show it to him, it warms my heart that he loved it.

Making this painting was a bit challenging for me cus I’ve been working with darker tones and this is the first time I will be working with a light skin tone. Getting the correct tones was the first problem. While I was watching tutorial videos online, I realize there are various light skin tones(just as dark tones) but since it’s light, when you’re working you have to be careful they are of same shades. Since I’m still a learner it’s not easy to manipulate my ways around those tones so I just had to create the tones with same color mixture and try my best to create variations of it to work with.

After a while, I was able to generate the colors I will be working with and I started painting. It actually took me longer to finish compare to my previous paintings of darker tones cus I tried to be careful since it’s new waters. In all, I love the entire process because I learned a lot from it. I’m very certain my next whiter skin tone painting will be better than this but for a first time, this is not so bad I’d say😊.
