Today I want to talk a little about one of the towns that we can get near Bogota and that has a tourist charm to be the place where we can get in the “salt cathedral”, which as its name suggests, is a church but with the difference that it is located in a cave that was once a salt mine.

To begin I must say how we can get to this place, and because it is close to Bogota, it is very easy, just having to go to the north terminal or the north portal, where we will take a bus that says “zipa” and that would charge 10,000 pesos per person.

We are going to arrive to the terminal of Zipaquirá and as we can imagine it is a small place given the size of the town but with the routes we need to go to those nearby places.

At the moment of our arrival, we went to look for something to eat and here we could not get a place of current lunches although later we were told that they do exist, so we decided to eat in a place of Venezuelan food and start our adventure in this place.

My first impression of Zipaquirá is that it is a quiet and touristic town, living mainly from tourism due to the salt cathedral and being a place of passage to then go to other nearby towns, and being able to see that it has approximately 112,000 inhabitants that mostly make life inside the town, while others take advantage of the low costs of living to save and have a life in another town nearby.

Buenas tardes Hivers, espero que estén teniendo un excelente día.

Hoy les quiero hablar un poco sobre uno de los pueblos que podemos conseguir cerca de Bogotá y que tiene un encanto turístico al ser el lugar donde podemos conseguir en la "catedral de sal", que como su nombre indica, es una iglesia pero con la diferencia de que se encuentra en una cueva que antes era una mina de sal.

Para comenzar debo decir cómo podemos llegar a este lugar, y debido a que se encuentra cercano a Bogotá, es muy fácil, solo teniendo que ir al terminal de norte o al portal del norte, donde vamos a tomar un autobús que diga "zipa" y que cobraría 10.000 pesos por persona.

Vamos a llegar al terminal de Zipaquirá y como podremos imaginar es un lugar pequeño dado el tamaño del pueblo pero con las rutas que necesitamos para ir a aquellos lugares cercanos.

Al momento de nuestra llegada, fuimos a buscar algo para comer y aqui no pudimos conseguir un lugar de almuerzos corrientes aunque luego nos dijeron que si existen, por lo que decidimos comer en un lugar de comida venezolana y dar inicio a nuestra aventura en este lugar.

Mi primera impresión de Zipaquirá es que es un pueblo tranquilo y turístico, viviendo principalmente del turismo debido a la catedral de sal y al ser un lugar de paso para luego ir a otros pueblos cercanos, y pudiendo ver qué tiene aproximadamente 112.000 habitantes que en su mayoría hacen vida dentro del pueblo, mientras que otros aprovechan los bajos costos de vida para ahorrar y tener una vida en otro pueblo cercano.
