ARCHITECTURE AND ART SHOWN AS ONE
With the event of the National Book Fair I had the opportunity to get to know the National Art Gallery of Venezuela in depth; The first lesson that life gave me that day was that opportunities must be taken advantage of in such a way that we can have a pleasant time learning and living with the people around us.
Observing the internal space while I was on my tour, I came to understand how the walls, ceiling, floor and lighting according to their arrangement form an essential part of the art shown.
It is easy to understand that architecture itself is a representation of art, that it can be adapted to what you want to show as the main work and that is why today the objective of this publication is to show how the works of art inside the Gallery of National Art shine for the structure in which they are displayed.
The first example that I want to present is the area of the Original Peoples; To begin with, the white walls make each of the exhibits on display stand out to a great extent. There is also the factor of the color of the floor that matches the cave works carried out in the different States of Venezuela.
Although the space can be somewhat dark, there is an electrical wiring system on the ceiling where the reflectors are strategically placed to make the exhibitions stand out to a greater degree.
On the other hand, seats were placed so that visitors could rest in the prepared area, being in a certain way a stop to take into account.
The walls play a very important role in Galleries and Museums, since it is on them that artistic paintings and certain objects of great cultural, monetary and social value are placed to be seen before an audience.
The placement of the walls can also generate an intimate atmosphere that, together with the works of art on display, define the spaces.
Below is the area of historical portraits and paintings of some influential people in the history of various countries.
As established in the previous paragraph, the arrangement of the walls is a key point to determine the theme of the collection of paintings as works; On this occasion, despite the fact that the space is open for the free movement of people, the walls form a kind of open square where paintings are displayed on each wall.
Despite the dark floor in this part, being a little closer to the entrances and exits of the gallery, the natural lighting brings a little more light.
In the same way as in the previous space, there is an electrical system where the light bulbs are placed in such a way that the light they project is reflected in certain parts of the walls, highlighting the colors of the paintings.
Here is an example of how important the distribution of works is; On the horizontal wall the portraits are presented in a harmonious way, even though each one is unique with its frame, shape and size. When these are placed as indicated on the plan, they fit together in perfect combination.
SECOND FLOOR
The second floor is quite a surprise, since compared to the 1st floor, here the great lighting of the glass ceiling, plus the light concrete floor, make the environment lighter, leaving behind the somewhat dark environment seen on the floor. 1.
In addition, that in terms of architecture, if there are details that stand out; because the ceiling has a certain height that allows the windows to be placed on the sides, in this way the sunlight, in addition to having to pass through the glass to be projected into the interior of the space, the lighting is projected in a widespread which does not affect the composition of the paintings and exhibits present.
Another visible change between the two environments is also the theme and the way in which the art is displayed. Example of the aforementioned is the image of the flower painted on the white wall made by Oscar Sotillo Meneses, where the wall is used as a form of blank canvas to present the art of a person.
In this second and third exhibition, different types of painted fabrics were placed on the wall so that what was painted or illustrated in each piece stands out in its own way.
Therefore, it is important to highlight the importance of distribution and display, since all the small works presented are placed on the wall in such a symmetrical way that the order in how they should be appreciated is understood.
Finally, I present to you two arctic representations united in a single painting entitled: Prague, El Hradčany and Caracas, El Silencio; where an artistic comparison between the architecture, culture, landscaping and geography of the Czech Republic and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is shown.

Wow! Who doesn't love the combined experiences of art and architecture as one activity, right @ginethchira2301? 😊
The rooftop skylights in that modern museum really added to the overall enjoyment of the various exhibits due to the natural light spreading within its spacious interiors. 👍
What type of finishes or textures were used for the walls of that art gallery? Were they just painted, have wallpaper, or something else?
On that second floor I was able to notice that white paint had been recently (weeks) placed; Now, the type of white paint varies like nail paint and I would say that it is of the White Paint - Silk Gloss type. since the wall had a certain brightness that stood out both for the natural light of the skylights and for the light bulbs and that is why the change of environment between the first and second floors of the Art Gallery is so visible
Yes, I guess the extensive use of paint would be more economical and practical as these wall materials wouldn't compete with the main attractions - the artistic exhibits of that museum. Thank you for your interesting observations. Have a splendid week! 😊
