Ah yes, the first proper ride with a new bike. Looks like a really nice route too. Those quiet roads are the best for just settling into the ride and getting used to the bike, where you start noticing all the little things, saddle, position, gearing, all that. Always a good feeling though. New bike days are hard to beat.
Hope it brings you a lot of good rides this year!

Thanks! It was good for getting used to the bike indeed. Especially the hydrolic disc breaks that work very well.
Yes! My bikes still use V-brakes, though, haha. I’m still dreaming of building a gravel bike someday. The 700c wheelset with wider tires just looks so tempting.
We've had some guys on Hive that built their own bicycle. I know one of them is not active on Hive anymore. And I haven't seen the other one in the Cycling Community for a long time.
