Kalanchoe flowers

This is the flower of a succulent plant. When it is a mature plant, it produces a flower stalk. This stalk produces flower buds that look more like fruits.

The flower buds gradually open, revealing a bell-shaped flower. At first, the flower is pink, but after a few days of exposure to the sun, the pink color becomes a stronger shade of pink.

The bell only opens a little. I expected to see flowers on display, showing their colorful pistils, but no.

This succulent is an ornamental plant of the Kalanchoe species. Its leaves are thick, between bluish, grayish, and pink in color. They are slightly dotted with thicker, darker lines, giving them a striped appearance.

The adult plant, after a few weeks with its flower stalk erect, producing flowers and more flowers, begins to die when it reaches its last flower.

The plant has the peculiarity of having small offspring on the edge of its leaves. Some people call it the bad mother plant.

When the plant dies, the leaves that have been shrinking release the small roots to the miniature plants that each leaf has on its edge.

From there, a plant will grow that, once it attaches itself to a substrate, will return to the same state as the mother plant.
