Farm animals

I was visiting my brother's farm which is located in the mountains, from the top you can see the Caribbean Sea. I was able to see his piglets. At this time of the year, pork is in high demand during the Christmas season.

Apart from that he tried to get rid of all the baby ducks but left two females and one male.

The females have been very productive and laid many fertile eggs. Now he is worse off than he was at the beginning because he has dozens of ducklings all over the poultry ground. He tells me that it is a paradox because when he wanted to have an abundance, the birds only laid a few fertile eggs, and now that he has given up this duck breeding he has randomly increased the number of hatchlings more than at the beginning.

These are the things of animal husbandry, sometimes things are planned but nature imposes itself. There are some free-ranging young rabbits in the field.

I was encouraged to venture into the field of quail. I have invested about 20 American dollars in the purchase of half a dozen of them and their food. In addition to the cost of the cage that I provided them.

Now I have two quails that have already started laying and I have 4 eggs in two days. I am excited. Because I want to eat only quail eggs and not buy chicken eggs for a while.

Quail farming is catching my attention. I plan to buy a small incubator and increase my number of birds. Since then also quail meat is very good in the daily diet.

The Internet offers a lot of information about quail breeding for beginners. I have bought 6 quails of which there are 5 females and one male. I have already studied that each male quail needs at least 4 females for him to be satisfied.

I also learned that the Japicun species is the best in terms of production, disease tolerance, and adaptability to the environment. I will soon be telling you how I am doing with this initiative to venture into the breeding and production of quail to obtain eggs for human consumption.

Thank you all for reading and commenting on my publication. I would also like to thank this community where I can write about my fascination with farms and raising animals for consumption.

Back in the day, we also have ducks, and a few animals in our backyard.. Currently, what we have are chickens and goats 😅. Sometimes, my mother would raise pigs for special occasions..

Hello friend. I don't have room for that many animals but I love seeing them on farms.
For now I want to raise my quails. I will see how this whole project works out for me.
