This time I took up the makeup section "Dark femenine makeup" or "fatale femme makeup" (which are practically the same thing) and I wanted to start it with the mighty María Félix. For those who don't know who she was, Maria Felix also known as "La Doña" or "Maria Bonita", was a Mexican actress from the golden age of Mexican cinema. The inspiration for fashion greats such as Balenciaga, Vivier and Saint Laurent, the star client of Cartier for her eccentric jewelry orders and the woman who is today an icon of contemporary style for the whole world and also who was the greatest representative of the Mexican big screen at an international level, also participating in renowned films in different European countries.

With her career she changed paradigms in the world of cinema, the role of women in films went from being that of the damsel to the landowner, Maria Felix became the woman who chose her own roles, she was one of the best paid in the industry. Beyond a successful career with 47 films, La Doña's legacy extends beyond the movies. Her image was a symbol of luxury, style and eccentricity, Maria was the main character not only of her films, but of an entire aesthetic, explicable only by her name.

As I mentioned before, she was distinguished by her extravagant style, full of eccentricities and luxuries and was even nominated by the Paris Haute Couture Association as one of the best dressed of her time, but far beyond her luxuriant dresses and elegant hats, she showed a special love for jewelry. The actress was an explosive mix of sensuality, elegance and beauty; with that fire in her eyes, a spectacular complexion and striking eyebrows that became one of her hallmarks, as well as her jet hair and her beautiful mole. With a characteristic makeup look in which her voluminous and defined eyelashes and a passion red lipstick stood out.

Besides being known for her eccentric tastes, she was also recognized for her strong personality with feminine power and self-valorization when expressing herself, which made her an even more famous figure. Here are her most famous quotes:

It is for this reason that I wanted to try to recreate her makeup, her wardrobe and that she was also the first imposing woman to open this section of Fatale Femme Makeup because the characters that María Félix mostly played gave that essence of femme fatale, strong, powerful woman who does not need anything or anyone because she could and she already had it. Like that Ariana Grande song: "I see it, I like it, I want it, I'll buy it".

En esta oportunidad retomé la sección de maquillaje “Dark femenine makeup” o “fatale femme makeup” (lo cual vendrían siendo prácticamente lo mismo) y quise comenzarlo con la poderosísima María Félix. Para quienes no sepan quien fue ella, María Félix también conocida como “La Doña” o “María Bonita”, fue una actriz mexicana de la época de oro del cine de México. La inspiración para los grandes de la moda como Balenciaga, Vivier y Saint Laurent, la clienta estrella de Cartier por sus excéntricos encargos en joyas y la mujer que es hoy un ícono de estilo contemporáneo para el mundo entero y también quien fue la más grande representante de la gran pantalla mexicana a nivel internacional, participando también en reconocidas películas en diferentes países de Europa.

Con su carrera cambió paradigmas en el mundo del cine, el papel de la mujer en películas pasó de ser el de la damisela al de terrateniente, María Félix se convirtió en la mujer que eligiera sus propios roles, era una de las mejores pagadas de todo el medio. Más allá de una exitosa carrera con 47 películas, el legado de La Doña se extiende fuera del cine. Su imagen fue símbolo del lujo, el estilo y la excentricidad, María fue el personaje principal no solamente de sus películas, sino de toda una estética, explicable únicamente con su nombre.

Como mencioné anteriormente se distinguía por su extravagante estilo, lleno de excentricidades y lujos quien hasta fue nominada por la asociación de la alta costura de París como una de las mejores vestidas de su época, pero mucho más allá de sus frondosos vestidos y elegantes sombreros, esta mostró un amor especial por la joyería. La actriz era una mezcla explosiva de sensualidad, elegancia y belleza; con ese fuego en la mirada, una tez espectacular y unas llamativas cejas que convirtió en una de sus señas de identidad, así como su melena azabache y su hermoso lunar. Con un característico look de maquillaje en el que destacaban sus voluminosas y definidas pestañas y un labial rojo pasión.

Además de ser conocida por sus gustos tan excéntricos era también reconocida por una personalidad fuerte con poder femenino y autovaloración al momento de expresarse que la hicieron una figura aún más famosa. Aquí sus más famosas frases:

Sobre la belleza: ‘La belleza te lo da todo, pero no es todo’.

Es por este motivo que quise intentar recrear su maquillaje, su vestuario y que también fuera ella la primera mujer imponente en abrir esta sección de Fatale Femme Makeup porque los personajes que mayormente hacía María Félix daban esa esencia de mujer fatal, mujer fuerte, poderosa que no necesita de nada ni de nadie porque ella podía y ella ya lo tenía. Como esa canción de Ariana Grande: “Lo veo, me gusta, lo quiero, me lo compro”.
