A Tale Of Two Cats, Charlie and Rosie
Last October my wife was awakened in the middle of the night because of the loud and incessant crying of a kitten outside our house. She felt so sorry for it and decided to go out and look for it. Armed with a flashlight she searched for the kitten and found him all by himself and very very hungry. Apparently, he was dumped by his previous human right outside our house and left him on his own. My wife brought him inside the house, cleaned him and fed him with milk from a medicine dropper. Afterwards, he fell asleep and he has been with us since.
Photo above was taken about 2 weeks after he was picked up from the street. We named him Charlie because he sort of resembled an actor in Hollywood. Can you guess who? The next photos are shots of Charlie beginning October upto now.
Charlie is now almost 5 to 6 months old. He is such a playful and kind animal that everyone in the house has taken to liking him. And if you are still wondering who the actor is that we named Charlie after, just look at his mustache (or half a mustache, actually) and see if he reminds you of anyone named Charlie (no offense to one of the greatest comedians ever).
Now it so happened that a month and a half ago, while travelling with my wife in our car heading for home, a very very small kitten crossed the street without minding the vehicles. The taxi in front of us almost squashed her but luckily the driver was able to swerve and stop his vehicle. A motorcyclist who was also following the taxi from the side immediately stopped and picked up the kitten and placed him back on the sidewalk. That was when my wife asked me stop, went down the car, and asked the motorcyclist if she can have the scared and very hungry kitten. The motorcyclist was just so glad of the godsend opportunity and happily gave the kitten to my wife. We brought the kitten home, cleaned her, fed her and now she's with us ever since.
We named her Rosie and she's just a sweet sweet cat, growing up so fast and is now Charlie's best friend and playmate.
From the photos above, you've seen how Charlie has grown and so has Rosie. We now have 3 cats inside the house (the other one is the eldest and has been with us for over 5 years already). My wife and I have not yet actually discussed what we will do when another helpless kitten shows up again and if we can still adopt it. But for now, we have no regrets about Charlie and Rosie. They have brought so much joy and laughter in the home and I guess they too feel the same in their hearts.
ps. Tagging my good friend @melinda010100 who asked to be appraised about anything new on Charlie 😀
Do you think Charlie (Chaplin) will ever grow into those ears? They are pretty cute kittens.
Hi. I think he'll eventually fill out and have a well proportioned face to ears. But now that you mentioned it, he does have unusually big ears for his face hahaha.
Thanks for dropping in 😊
