Me to "My 2020 self"- Even these beautiful structures can't walk. They don't seem to complain

We humans seldom keep saying, "I was SUPPOSED to be there but, I am here doing this" or I was SUPPOSED to be doing that but"or “I was SUPPOSED to be meeting or seeing someone else" but blah blah. This point kept triggering my head when I saw these structures. Not that I haven't been to Rajasthan before, but this trip was an experience that just teleported through me and spoke to my past self.

So, this July, I was "supposed" to be in Himachal but then the infamous floods changed my plans and I ended up in Rajasthan.Fiery Jaipur heat was enough to kill my excitement, but I was happy, at-least I was not at home and then I saw these beauties. Suddenly I found myself walking towards them and the closer I went my eyes couldn't spread enough and something started filling up my chest, and I kept walking even closer. And capturing these structures, I remembered myself when I was in hospital bed not knowing if I would be able to stand up and walk again. I wanted to tell myself that even these beautiful structures can't walk. They don't seem to complain.

I so wished I would have realised it then, but no
This was not supposed to happen then. This was supposed to be happening right here, right now. We all are supposed to be exactly where we are and not anywhere else. The day we realise this one thing, I am sure we'll sulk less in our lives. Just imagine if these monuments could walk, I am sure they would have been so fed-up of humans that they would walk off and hide themselves in isolation. But no, these structures, these amazing monuments were right in front of me telling me that if not for them, we would not have any past and thus no future. These structures are not just a part of our history books, but they bind a year, a generation a century to another.

For some reason, that huge amber structure was freeing me from a heaviness I never thought I was carrying.
No matter how old its history is, it was new to me when I saw it first.
The huge walls felt like we all come from slavery, and now, we all dare to dream.
Without that history, would we have this future?

There couldn't have been a more beautiful gift by our Ancestors to us and Heritage, is the crown they will always wear.
This is Gaurav Rudra, signing off this time with another promise of beautiful sunrise and sunset and something new too.
