Saludos hivers y bienvenidos a mi blog. Los que me siguen o leen con frecuencia mis publicaciones saben que uno de los temas que más me gusta fotografiar es la naturaleza, y en especial, los insectos. Estos pequeños y fascinantes seres vivos llenos de color me han brindado hermosas fotos que he podido compartir aquí en Hive.

Hello hivers and welcome to my blog. Those who follow me or frequently read my posts know that one of the subjects I like to photograph the most is nature, and especially insects. These fascinating little living beings full of color have provided me with beautiful photos that I have been able to share here on Hive.

Hoy quiero mostrarles una visión diferente de los insectos, esta iniciativa forma parte de mi experimentación con la fotografía en blanco y negro, un formato que utilizo muy poco y del cual mis conocimientos son mínimos, y es por eso mismo que esto es todo un reto para mi, ya que para aprender hay que atreverse y practicar así que he seleccionado algunas de mis muchísimas fotos de insectos y las he llevado al terreno de la ausencia del color.

Today I want to show you a different vision of insects, this initiative is part of my experimentation with black and white photography, a format that I use very little and of which my knowledge is minimal, and that is why this is quite a challenge for me, since to learn you have to dare and practice, so I have selected some of my many photos of insects and have taken them to the field of the absence of color.

Me he propuesto estudiar e investigar sobre la fotografía en blanco y negro porque quiero nutrir mi casi inexistente conocimiento sobre este tema, sin embargo aún no he empezado jajaja así que para hacer esta publicación sólo me dejé llevar por mi propio criterio y lo que me gusta, ya que no se nada sobre los elementos técnicos básicos por los que se guían los fotógrafos profesionales.

I have decided to study and research black and white photography because I want to nourish my almost non-existent knowledge on this subject, however I have not started yet hahaha so to make this post I only let myself be carried away by my own criteria and what I like, since I know nothing about the basic technical elements that professional photographers are guided by.

Después de probar con muchísimas fotos, finalmente seleccioné quince para esta primera parte y fueron las que más me gustaron. Una de las cosas que más me ha llamado la atención de este formato, en el corto tiempo que he estado experimentando, es la gran diferencia que hace el color en la percepción de una imagen, ya que una foto que a color se ve espectacular, interesante o llamativa, no necesariamente se verá de la misma manera en blanco y negro 🥴🤔.

After trying many photos, I finally selected fifteen for this first part and they were the ones I liked the most. One of the things that has caught my attention the most about this format, in the short time that I have been experimenting, is the big difference that color makes in the perception of an image, since a photo that looks spectacular, interesting or striking in color, it won't necessarily look the same in black and white 🥴🤔.

Hay fotos que creo que se verán increíbles en blanco y negro y resulta todo lo contrario jajaja y hay otras que sin ser muy bonitas a color lucen perfectas en monocromático, bueno, al menos para mi 😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️. Me pasó varias veces mientras seleccionaba las fotos para este post. No estoy segura pero creo que este pequeño pero gran detalle tiene mucho que ver con la luz 🤔.

There are photos that I think will look incredible in black and white and it turns out to be the opposite hahaha and there are others that, without being very pretty in color, look perfect in monochrome, well, at least for me 😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️. It happened to me several times while I was selecting photos for this post. I'm not sure but I think this small but great detail has a lot to do with the light 🤔.

Cuando enfrento estos dos formatos de fotografía hay una cosa que personalmente me queda muy clara, la fotografía a color es fácil porque te muestra todo, sólo tienes que capturarlo, mientras que la fotografía en blanco y negro es compleja y misteriosa porque es introspectiva, tienes que buscar el significado que se esconde detrás de ella.

When I face these two photography formats there is one thing that is very clear to me personally, color photography is easy because it shows you everything, you just have to capture it, while black and white photography is complex and mysterious because it's introspective, you have to look for the meaning hidden behind it.

Yo no sé si logré o no encontrar una visión más intimista de cada uno de estos insectos con estas fotos jajaja, lo que sí les puedo decir es que me gustaron y me transmiten algo que va más allá que la simple foto de un insecto. Igual me encantaría leer las críticas y recomendaciones de los que sí manejan con gran habilidad y conocimiento este formato monocromático.

I don't know if or not I managed to find a more intimate view of each of these insects with these photos hahaha, what I can tell you is that I liked them and they transmit something to me that goes beyond a simple photo of an insect. I would still love to read the reviews and recommendations of those who do handle this monochrome format with great skill and knowledge.
