The Konark Sun Temple is one of the most magnificent historical monuments in India. It is located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Built in the 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty, the temple is dedicated to Surya, the lord Sun. The Konark Sun Temple is a symbol of India's rich history, beautiful art, and culture. It shows the great talent and hard work of our ancestors.

I went on a family trip with 11 people in total—seven adults and four children. We left at 11:00 AM and bought tickets for everyone, but we didn't have enough time to wait for the light and sound show. I've heard the light and music show here is amazing, but we couldn't watch it this time. However, we will definitely check it out next time we visit.

I still remember reading about the Konark Temple when I was in class eight. There were some pictures in my book,And I saw a few things there that reminded me, 'Yes, this was in my book.' Seeing that made me feel very proud and really happy.

Honestly, the carving work was so beautiful. I had never seen such detailed carvings before. Every single wall depicted how kings and emperors lived their lives. Looking at it filled me with a deep sense of pride. Truly, our ancestors were so talented to create such amazing artistry on the walls. Not just us, but future generations to come will see this—and it is truly the most beautiful temple in history.

Every sculpture tells a story, making the temple a "stone encyclopedia" of 13th-century Indian life

These walls featured such fine carving work, depicting musicians, dancers, hunters, soldiers, farmers, and even wedding processions. The peacefulness with which people lived their lives 750 years ago was clearly reflected on those walls

Our hardworking & Great Labours designed temple is in the shape of a giant stone chariot of the Sun God, there was twenty-four beautifully carved wheels, each wheels indicates the time of the day & night as rays of sun touches wheel dial and even there was seven horses, symbolizing the movement of the sun across the sky.

Konark Temple is truly beautiful, but we made the mistake of planning our visit during the day. It was extremely sunny, and the children with us were getting very restless. We had also hired a tourist guide who explained everything about the temple and all its statues. It was genuinely a great trip. There was huge visitor all around the India to see the great craving work and History behind it.

Wow! The temple is so big and beautiful. I'm wondering how long it takes to build this temple

The Konark Sun Temple took approximately 12 years to build, believed that around 1,200 skilled artisans, sculptors, and craftsmen worked on the temple.

The temple looks amazing! It's like having a museum of a certain period of history to research... The visitor could spend a whole day if they would like to check all the stone carvings!

Btw. I see a door in some images, but I didn't see any photos of the inside... Is it prohibited to enter, or is it prohibited to take photos of the inside? I'm a bit curious to see how it looks from the inside, and whether it has more rooms and chambers.

It's amazing how these temple was built before without any technologies from the modern era. I haven't seen a temple carved from stone yet in person, so thank you so much for sharing your experience.
