Stripping

(Edited)

Inhibitions are discarded, the anticipation of what's to come seemingly strips them away as clothes come off, their layers removed and discarded as if the elimination of each item takes with it pent up emotions leaving the person bare, carefree and free, from all but their sense of enjoyment and desire to revel in the moment.

I've been to a lot of beaches, something most Australian's can say considering how many we have and the Australian way of life embraces the water, water sports and laying in the sun upon pristine beaches.

There's something almost cathartic about the strip of sandy beach that exists between the ocean and whatever a person leaves behind them as they walk onto the beach. As one moves from everyday life and onto that strip of sand problems have a way of ebbing like the tide, at least for a time, and the mind and soul are more able to find clarity, comfort and...possibly catharsis.

mop.jpeg

I love the beauty of the beach and ocean, surely one of nature's true gifts, although I was also grateful to have my girl-person with me and here she is getting frustrated with me saying, "stand this way, now to the right, now move left, no not that much, now that's not enough..." I'm lucky she tolerates me; many others would not, and have not.

The simplicity of the beach and the ocean is what I've tried to show in these images; it's beautiful in its sparseness I think.

There's not all that much on a beach; sand and the ocean, a formless, everchanging thing of perpetual movement, and not much else if one chooses the right beach, few people I mean. There may be a boat here and there, a flight of gulls or other sea birds, even a human or two, but the beaches I love are those where I see nothing but one of nature's most amazing creations.

beach (1).jpg

If you've never walked along a beach such as this one it's really something to put on your bucket list; the feeling is something pretty amazing. It's like I say in my first paragraph...the beach has a way of stripping away the harshness and reality of life, the complexities, complications and stresses leaving a peacefulness that permeates deeply....or so I find anyway.

Wandering along a beach like this, devoid of almost anything but sand and water, with an amazing sky overhead, is one of the most simple pleasures a person can experience.

fgt.jpg

I'm a proud Australian and happy to have been born and raised in such a beautiful country. But before I'm that, I'm human, just a simple man with simple tastes and those tastes cause me to want to spend time with nature, in beautiful places like this.

I don't ask for much in life, I prefer to earn it through hard work and effort, and one of my greatest rewards is being able to spend time in places like this, upon that strip of sand with views that seem to go forever. I know many who would prefer to sit at a fancy café or have to be entertained...I don't though. It's with nature I feel most content and in places like this where I feel connected to the planet and myself.

More gorgeous nearly empty beaches. Won't be long before we find ourselves in SA my friend! !LOL

There's so many beaches around Australia and most of them pretty stunning, but yep, South Australia has its fair share. It sounds like a road trip might be on the cards for you.

It's been on the cards for a loooong time. !LOL
But I think that car will take us to the snow before it takes us to secluded SA beaches.

All in good time.

It's more beautiful with less people.

I've never been to a beach TBH but it's definitely a thing in my bucket list. The one in my state is very beautiful but has a myth surrounding it and it has drowned thousands of people. Whenever a speed boat or surfers get in the water a sudden storm begins according to what I hear and these people get drowned in their numbers(there are specific days and time of the year this happens). One of my aunt's friend who wanted to visit and see for herself got drowned and died till date her body hasn't been found. So, I avoid it a lot so as to not be one of the unfortunate people.

Maybe you could go to that beach and stay out of the water? I'm sure you'd be safe enough.

I'd sure be safe but there's no way I'd visit a beach for the first time in my life and not want to get in the water.

What an amazing nature captured here. The cloud look so amazing including the reflection over there. Beaches are always a beautiful place to visit and I hope that I will be able to do so one day. Thanks for sharing this wonderful post and have a great day.

I thought the ol man was going to get his nuggets out for the Hive community, there seems to be a growing trend of influencers half naked joining Hive and not posting many words. Why not a bloke to the same and make bank lmao

My wife never tolerates me when I ask her to do a lot of poses esp if it is only on a random. Very beautiful photography!

If I get a chance to work outside of my country it would be Japan, Dubai, or Australia…

Japan, Dubai or Australia...Well, third place isn't too bad I guess.

I have a childhood friend who lives and works now in Australia. He is a nurse. And he says Australia pays good especially to nurses. So, maybe teachers are also paid good in there.

Teachers and nurses get paid reasonable money here I guess, although they're always lobbying for more.

Nature does have a way of stripping off the harshness of life. The beach is just a perfect place to be when it is you and the wonderful sea creatures there. The waves of the sea, and the peace and smell are what I love most.

I think you sum it up well and are obviously someone who has spent time with nature finding a central point and building a platform to move forward in life from. Nice work.

I live not far away from the beach when I was with my parents. Being there at night is just the perfect way out of life's troubles. I do miss the beach. It has been 10 years now.

Thanks for sharing. I believe you also enjoy nature too for you have written beautifully about it.

Beautiful place, beaches are exactly that - they take you away from all the hustle and bustle and return you to the most simple of form...I'm glad you enjoyed it with your girl, although I know how much you detest sand so can't imagine you guys were rolling around in it stripped down to nothing. That would be horribly uncomfortable 🤣

Sand is always an issue, it gets everywhere. Just reading the word in your comment made me feel some behind my left ear...Oh hand on, that's a sprinkle off a donut I had earlier. But yeah, sand is shit and there was no rolling...I tend to tiptoe around so I touch it the least I possibly can.

Here's me on the beach. Actual footage.

Donut sprinkles behind your ear? Hey, I'm guilty of that kind of thing. It's like cat glitter. Gets fucking everywhere.

I have always loved the beach. The last time i was on the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, i walked a few miles down the beach on my own and got stuck in a huge squall. The storm came out of nowhere and i had to navigate my way back those few miles whilst being sandblasted by all directions. Unfortunately, i had my backpack full of all my best art and it got super soaked.

I don't live or operate in fear often at all... but this storm put the fear of God into me. I have always had a profound respect for nature and water in particular. I thought the ocean was going to swallow me up from off that little strip of sand. Still a fond memory, even though it was no bucket list experience i would wish upon even my enemies.

Our experiences shape our thoughts and those shape our actions, or so I believe. I have had experiences I'd not like to repeat also, but they taught me many things, sometimes just persistence and fortitude. Maybe you need to get yourself down here for a taste of Australian beaches...pretty safe, if you don't get eaten by a white pointed, stung by an Irukandji, or gobbled up by a crocodile, swept out to see by a rip tide or...hmm, maybe best not to risk an Australian beach.

Lovely post as usual and the pictures... Remarkable - especially the water reflection post of your lady. Gorgeous indeed.

That thin line between the sea and the sky that shows a paradise.

What beautiful pictures! I love the sea, and now that I live looking at the Mediterranean I understand you.

It's wonderful to walk on the sand and enjoy every step.

Living on the Mediterranean sounds like a nice place to be. I guess most countries have something beautiful in them depending on perspective. I've travelled the world and seen some amazing places, many in which I'd love to live...but I love coming home to Australia.

So beautiful.

I miss the beach and can’t wait for summer. Although our summers are really only 2 months long… July and August. We have snow from November to April and then mostly mosquitoes … not sure why I live here anymore. 🇨🇦

August is nice for kayaking on the Georgian Bay.

Short summers huh? This one has been a little odd, not as hot as usual. We had some 42C days, but normally get many more and up to 47C. I'm not complaining though, I don't like the heat so much.

Mostly mosquitoes? Sounds horrible...Maybe a move is on the cards?

I can’t take much over 30 Celsius though … we were down in DC for a few years and it was just too hot(June, July, August) …. I need to find a place where the temperature hovers between 18 - 26 Celsius …. And no mosquitoes… do you know of a place like that ? I’ve been looking forever.

Maybe California ?

I'm lucky enough to know the sensations you describe, here in Calabria we have beaches very similar to the ones you talk about in the post.

I agree with you that taking a nice walk in places like these regenerates, an experience to do at least once in a lifetime, but also to be repeated whenever possible 😉

I've been to many countries around the world and seen a lot of skies and yep, the sky in Australia is far bluer than many, especially in the less populated areas. Less smog I guess.

Thanks for your comment. I hope you had a good weekend.

What beautiful pictures, I live near the sea, I have rarely been where it is so empty and beautiful as seen here.

But if I have focused my view on spaces where there are only sand, sea, sky and mountains in the background and something really pleasant.

Beautiful the first image, after some complaints about the poses, it was something really fascinating.

I don't like crowded beaches and avoid them, but when they're are as free from people as the one in my images I'm often there. Luckily in Australia there are a lot of beaches, all mostly nice, so finding a sparsely populated one is quite easy.

Thanks for your comment and compliment.

You are really lucky. There are beautiful beaches around here too.

Maybe you can also get lonely.

But because of the insecurity, we prefer to go when there are more people around.

Being on the beach, under a palm tree, watching the scenery, is really pleasant.

I like how you call it a strip of sand between the ocean and the person, to ebbing ones problems and thoughts...

You have a great outlook man, I must say that I like all three - I love nature, enjoy coffee shops and like to be entertained! But if I was to pick one, nature would be the winner every time. Quite beaches, mountaintops, landscapes I see for the first time, walking on the grass barefoot at dawn... That's the stuff..

There's many ways to enjoy life and I think variety is a good policy. Nature is usually free though, and quite often the more satisfying, for me anyway.

I have been delivering near the coastline for a couple months now. Right beside A Marine Base

It sucks watching the lines of drop deck big rigs stream into the base with tons of our tax payer dollars in armaments. Sent over to a NATO globalist proxy war against Russians who are simply trying to protect their borders. While ours are overrun.

Oh yeah, back to the beach. Sorry reality keeps creeping back in. This is my escape. The happy time where I live vicariously thru you and yours. G-Dog Take Me AWAY.!!
