Outdoors and more: Scenery posting contest - 80 Hive to win [Entries now closed]
Nature is beautiful and as an outdoorsman I'm often found somewhere out there enjoying what it's got to offer. Sometimes I'm on Hive though and occasionally run posting contests...and here's one about nature.

How to enter
- Do a post highlighting natures beautiful and scenic places.
We're not looking for pictures of a flower or tree though, we want to see scenic vistas: Mountains, oceans and beaches, forests, jungles, deserts, snowy vistas, rolling hills, lakes, rivers, open plains, savannah, canyons and so on; natural places, and it can be one location or a combination of several.
What you can win
Prizes will be split between first (30 Hive), second (20 Hive) and third (10 Hive) and depending on the number of entries some notable mentions with 5 Hive here and there. I'll also upvote posts based on quality and effort and will curangel the really good ones.
There's rules
- First tag must be #scenerycontest (leave the '#' off though of course)
- Posts must be in the Outdoors and More community
- Minimum of 250 word post - your own images are essential
- Follow the community rules including English only posts
The judge and sponsors

Yeah, I concur...I just figured to see if I could help people get some awesome nature stuff posted this week. We'll see...could be a total bust, only time will tell.
I'm probably going to wait until Wednesday, but I think I have some stuff I can share. It won't be epic mountain tops or anything like that, but it is definitely nature!
Well, I figured I'd launch it tonight (midnight Monday, almost Tuesday) instead of tomorrow to give people more time...we'll see if that pays dividends. Either way, it'll get a few nature posts into the community and a few will win some Hive for their efforts.
I'm looking forward to seeing the results of this one. Too bad my photos are awful and my trips not far from home, or I would enter. Maybe I will anyway.

Poor bugger, but to me he looks like he enjoyed life on the land out in Ohio. I'm not familiar with the meme he was in, meme's are not really on my radar because I'm not a social media person I guess, but it's a nice bit fame for the fellow that would otherwise have gone completely unnoticed.
Lol, you've got my attention. Got a few questions though. I'm guessing it should be a series of photos in the post? Should they all be linked--of the same general location, or just a selection of various different places?
One photo will work fine, or multiple...doesn't have to be the same place.

I'm not sure what I have can compare to some of these people on Hive. I only have a cell phone and don't use any drones. Still, it's worth a shot. I can put this in today and post my Three Tunes tomorrow.

I must say I am impressed with your collection of photos. It indicates a standard to think about and be inspired by. I'll hurry so I don't miss the deadline. The timer in Peakd helps a lot, I've seen it now too.

this is a good challenge, to see the natural scenery which has its own meaning, actually if we go to the top of the mountain it has some very beautiful pictures of the scenery, hopefully I can take part in this contest.
The only person that would stop you from taking part would be yourself I guess. So, take part if you would like to, or not. The choice is your own.

Hmm... I'm not sure if I have any recent shots that fit the bill. I haven't really gone anywhere since my kids were born. But I'll look into my archives and see if I can find anything. I have been hiking a few times, so I may have plenty of photos of forest life.

Back in the day on the #weekend-engagement concept I used to hand out Hive each week, mostly mine but some sponsored by a few people...I gave away a total of about 6,000 Hive all up. It's a lot huh? I'm coming up to the third year anniversary next week, I never thought it'd last so long.

One entry per person is sufficient I think. It only runs until Friday so there's not that many days to do more then one. If you want to do two that's ok, I don't mind, but it might be best to focus on one to make sure it's your best effort.

Nah, photos from anytime...just make sure they're about nature and scenery, not buildings and cities.

This contest has been fantastic, I have seen so many spectacular photographs of beautiful corners of our land. It is a pity that I have not saved any photographs of my travels and that the few I had were lost on my old laptop and I had no more backup of them.
I live in the capital and I don't think there is much to see, or maybe there is but lately I have hardly been out. Yesterday, after such a long time I went back to my beautiful mountain, El Avila, I had the intention to get to some creek or some of the peaks, however, the accesses are closed due to the drought. It is only allowed to climb up to the first ranger station which is about 3.2 km away. It was still great to climb that small stretch and reconnect again with this magical place.
When they reopen the access I will come back and hopefully bring back some shots of that amazing mountain.
I'm glad you managed to get out for a walk up the mountain, a shame some areas were closed though.
As for the contest, I understand that some may not have the photos but I wanted to do it any, I like looking at beautiful scenery and this is a good way to see it from various places.
The community is here all the time though, so if you have some suitable content please feel free to use it.
understand why you like to look at beautiful scenery even if it is through a photograph, I have quite enjoyed looking at amazing images and am pleased to know that they are somewhere on this planet.

Hello @galenkp, just yesterday I found out about the contest and I was going to publish now and I was surprised to see that the time had already expired, I thought it was closing later.
Well, thank you very much and anyway my post is about a weekend adventure, so I will post it in your other community.
Ah ok...well, I put the UTC time link in there so people can work out the exact closing time in their own timezone. A pity you didn't use it. That's ok though, all do another one.
I checked and calculated what I could post until 8pm today.
And at 3pm in my country it was ready and when I looked for this post it already said closed.

I know some folks have internet issues which make it hard to post sometimes. It's not ideal I guess. I'm sorry that happens to you.
Every day, our electricity is cut off for 6-7 hours and then there is no internet.
I feel like my hands are tied because I created a community with a lot of illusion and love and to be like this makes me desperate.

That's terrible. We have the odd power outage now and then, a couple times a year, but it's only for short periods, an hour or so, unless there's a major storm...but that's rare.
I know it makes things difficult for you and others. I guess it's something you have to work around although it's not an ideal situation.
Here it's every day, it's become a nightmare and hive apart from being what keeps me distracted to cope with things is the only income I get.
And the poor state of the communication infrastructure makes things worse.
There are states in the country where telecommunications are better but not where I live, since it is a village, for many reasons I can't leave even if I wanted to. 😪
