Green...then pink

Lately most of my photography of flowers from my garden have been taken inside due to bad weather (rain and wind mostly) so a few days ago, a nice weather day, I took my camera outside and grabbed some shots of some of my hyacinths (Asparagaceae family) and I'm pleased with how they came out.

For something different, because I guess some of you are probably bored half to death of my photos already, I decided to add in a couple shots of the plants from their early beginnings, their leaves emerging from the earth. These are Pink Surprise hyacinths which flower in late winter/early spring so they're a little early this year but I'm not complaining. They are bulbs so, once planted, will come back every year. I also have Blue Jacket and Purple Sensation bulbs planted which are blue and purple respectively - the name gives it away I guess.

I was able to capture some water droplets on the plants thanks to overnight rain; being moist can make for much more enjoyment, right?

Because these hyacinths are in their early stages the stalk is still quite short but it'll eventually grow taller and hold nice little stalks of flowers to make my garden look very colourful. Unlike some of my other flowers I don't cut these and bring them inside, they sit in pots lined up outside my home-office window, mostly as a border for the large pots that hold taller trees, and in various other locations around the place. It's a nice little burst of colour and the contrast of pink on green is pleasing.

Those turned out really nice! I have some flowers out in my back yard that I have been meaning to get some shots of. I think they are hostas and they are finally in bloom. I've also been gathering some macro shots from recent trips I have been on. Just need to find the time to post them.

These are such nice little flowers, nice and compact and easily photographed. They're always a nice surprise when they pop up, although I know they're coming, and they add some nice colour to the middle of winter. I'll look out for your own macro shots.

Thanks, I just realized they might not be proper macro shots, but they are sort of close up. I need to dig into my folders and get them sorted out.

Close up is good enough. I used to say so anyway, before I had a macro lens. 😉

I was thinking how I could make those little leaves popping out of the ground actually look interesting and tried a few things but wasn't able to make anything work as I wanted it to...so this is all there is. I guess it tells the story though right?

These photos are capable of making a guy like me to stare at them for hours. These pictures are really beautiful mate. I wish that I could visit this garden in real😩.
I have a little garden at home which has a pomegranate tree and some other vegetables and a plant of red roses.

It's good that you have a small garden and some plants in it. I used to have a pomegranate tree where I grew up...I used to love heating them. I don't have one now but I have some vegetables, some of which you'll see in my post tomorrow.

Gorgeous hyacinths, I love them, the whole family related to them are a beauty!

You know I always choose the pictures, the ones that catch my eye, but all of them are beautiful. I choose 3 and 5.

The contrast of the intense green with the earth is wonderful and the pink colours in different tonalities in photo 5 I love them.

I had hyacinth flowers in Argentina, also lilies, calla lilies, irises. A bit of everything. My grandmother loved flowers and I think she passed that love on to me.

Here I have indoor plants but they don't give flowers.... I think I will go to the parks where there are lots of them! I keep looking at them, I love them.

Thank you very much Galen, the pictures are great!😀

Note: I never get bored of your photos.... I learn.

Here I have indoor plants but they don't give flowers

I think it's time you got some flowers into your life. We have a saying here in Australia...

A person without flowers in their life is like a person with no flowers...in their life...umm...and that person is not as happy without flowers as they would be with flowers...in their life, because there's no flowers in their life...at all.

Ok, it's not really a very good saying at all. Actually, I just made it all up because I'm a knucklehead.

Thanks for liking my snaps and taking the time to comment...and not getting bored. I took a few snaps on my hike today, they'll post in about an hour.

Here in Australia we have a saying about hiking...(Ok, not really.)

And I believed the saying .... it's very good it's true.

Can I tell you something? People throw away a lot of things here... and they throw away plants, I feel sorry for them, I rescue them and bring them back to life. Most of the ones I have are rescued.

And the saying about hiking?🤣🤣🤣

I'll be waiting for those snapshots!

Yeah, I don't get people throwing away plants but we live in a disposable society where the quest for new and more outweighs taking care of things so they don't need replacing or contentment.

Humans are garbage and should be thrown in the trash.

What a beauty Galen, how you cultivate with so much love the beauty of your being, in that beautiful garden of flowers in pots, located in the environment of your home... I can visualize you, watering, pruning, fertilizing those contrasts of colors as they are, to admire and enjoy them, without being judged by their thorns... I think that's how we humans are, like those flowers in your garden.🌺

I am many things, one who has taken lives, but I also like giving life and that's what I do in my garden.

I can visualize you, watering, pruning, fertilizing

Please, for your own safety, don't visualise too vividly because I often do this with few clothes on...out the back, not at the front of the house of course. Lol.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments, as always.

Wow, hahahah I also do it like these very minimal clothes, topless and bikini, especially for this very warm weather and humidity in this land of the sun beloved hahahah. There are two of us.
Have a good night...lol🙌🌞😎🌺
