Green and crawly

A little earlier today I decided to shoot a few images of some cuttings I'd taken from a tree growing in my street...these are not those photos, I'll do a post about those at some later date, this post is about a little fellow who managed to come into my house aboard the cuttings I'd taken.

dog_33_09hovyyz (2).jpg

As I was taking the images of the plants in my lightbox I could see tiny little insects wandering around on them as I looked through the camera. I don't think I'd have been able to see them with the naked eye, but through the macro lens they were only just visible. I kept shooting and then, this bastard crawled out of one of the twigs. He wasn't all that scary though, it's just my first reaction when I see spiders because I don't like them. This one was tiny, super small in fact, and probably not dangerous like many of the others in Australia are.

Anyway, he was a restless bugger and didn't want to sit still but I managed to get a couple shots of him that seemed semi-decent and here they are.

I'm not a great photographer at the best of times and shooting things in macro that don't want to keep still is pretty challenging for me, but it was good to have the chance with this little fellow. At the end of the shoot, I took all of the cuttings I'd taken and placed them back in the tree I'd taken them from; yes I know they won't grow again, but I wanted this little guy to get back into the same tree I took him from...just in case he had a little girl spider in there he was sweet on. True love endures you know.

Here in Australia, we have some of the worlds most deadly and aggressive spiders and I do not like them one little bit, but we co-exist I guess and I've managed to go my entire life without being killed, so far. What about you, do you like spiders, hate them or don't have an opinion? Have you had one fall or crawl on you? This happened to me, a big fucken spider called a Huntsman, and it wasn't my finest hour. Feel free to comment with any spider stories you have if you're keen, I'll always respond.

Thanks mate, I've not done macro shots like this before , creepy crawlies just don't stay still, so I was happy to have the chance to get a shot or two. I appreciate your favourable comment.

Nature has not put rest in their nature, they sense danger and start to move here and there.

Yeah, he was a quick little bugger; he was spinning web...I tried to photograph it but it was so fine I couldn't see it.

The green berry spider it's called...ok, not really. It was very small and my camera struggled to get decent shots but I think these ones show it well enough.

These photographs are masterful!!!

I can't believe the beauty of what I'm seeing, aren't you a great photographer? Let me tell you that you are, and let no one say otherwise. I would stay for hours admiring these beautiful shots!

It's super hard to do that and I love it, please, I love it!!! !!!!!

But .... I don't like spiders at all... at one time I had a phobia, when I saw one, even a tiny one, I would stand still and I was short of breath, I couldn't even kill it.

Today I am better.... the small ones I kill them, I understood that the spiders represent the mother... and my fear that something happens to her, everything has a reason. I analyse myself a lot.

I still don't like them hahaha

But what great shots, OMG!!!!

Congratulations, genius!

Thanks, it was a little bit of fun working with the superstar model (the spider) although the bugger didn't want to stay still!

Spiders are pretty creepy things and I'm with you, I don't like them much at all.

Thanks for making a comment, I hope you don't run into any spiders today.

The spiders won't stay still haha that won't happen, you'll have to be quick to take the picture, that's nature.

I hope I don't come across any .... I don't like them at all. To think that some people keep them as pets.

No... I don't like spiders, in fact, when I saw the photo from the outside, I thought "ick.... a spider post" ... and debated a few seconds if I was going to come see.

You did good with the photos though. I like the pod thingys in the last photo.

It's great to know that you live in Australia, where there is one of the wildest ecosystems on the planet. In my case, I don't like spiders, but I don't hate them either. They play their role in nature. I'm reading your posts to learn how to write correctly in Weekend Experiences and right now I just learned things by reading your post. Thank you.

Yep, we have some pretty nasty stuff down here, a lot of which will kill you pretty quickly.

There's a posting guide in my weekend experiences community, pinned to the top of the post feed page, it pretty much explains everything.

Yes, I've already read that guide twice. But in this post I could see what you were referring to in that guide in terms of engaging the reader and how to motivate them. I also noticed that there are different types of weekend experiences.

It is not at all a pleasure to learn from people who have come a long way.

This made me laugh...The first part, it is not at all a pleasure, means it's not enjoyable. I think you mean, it is a pleasure. No stress mate, I know English isn't your first language. I'm glad to provide some assistance, let me know if I can help.

Sorry it was my mistake not to check the translation. Sometimes the Deepl if you don't put the phrase correctly, it changes the meaning. The English is my second language, I understand it well enough, but some idiomatic phrases are not so easy to understand. Thanks for understanding jjjjjj and for your help.

Wow, I don't think I've seen a green spider before. I wouldn't touch it, let alone allow it to get close, but it actually looks cute. The color makes it seem soft and gooey. I also like how the legs translucent.

Huntsman spiders are a stuff of nightmares. I wouldn't even know what to do if I ever encounter one in a house. I've heard they're supposed to be harmless and helpful, but they scare the shit out of me.

It was pretty small so I touched it to get int into place on that stick...I figured if it was deadly and bit me, I'd be dead soon enough and it wouldn't matter...As it turned out, it was harmless...or maybe wasn't in the biting mood. Those Huntsman's though...Bloody creepy things...I'm not a fan of them...they sort of freak me out. They are harmless, the bite hurts a little is all, but they still freak me out.

I've never seen a spider that color before, that is pretty crazy! I am not afraid of spiders, but we don't have many horrible ones here in Michigan. It's pretty rare that you see anything dangerous on either the snake or spider side of things. You have to worry more about bears here!

Many say that, one gets used to it and a person can live reasonably safely in the cities. Spiders and snakes still, but less common. I think most people in the capital cities would have never seen a snake in real life that wasn't at the zoo. Going into the wilderness like I do is a different story, but with care and some understanding it can be safe.

The nature of my island is benevolent and we do not have poisonous bugs, we can sleep peacefully. I'm not afraid of spiders, none (at least the ones I know in Cuba) and that green one is very cool.

Here I am with my friends, in the middle of the Cuban rainforest. We slept with little protection, we bathed naked in the waterfall. It is not necessary to take care of any animals. There are no large predators either. There never were. This is certainly paradise. 💚

Yeah, it was in the 1970's.

I don't like how they cross-market the super heroes in a bid to make more money. I gave up on the DC and Marvel things, I have no clue what's going on in them, all those super heroes doing all that stuff...and along comes Thor. Nah, I'd rather watch paint dry.

Great captures of the Australian "mini" Universe! Since I don't have the proper light box or camera to capture with such detail this little fellows, I just have the opportunity of capturing them in my "occipital lobe" memory... The Only one I fear here on the Pookyville Cat Ranch...

The Black Widow

No worries about the man in her life bro. She kills him and eats him right after the first sex.

Of course these giant banana spiders are a little intimidating when you drive thru a giant web 🕸️ on your tractor and they are the size of a small bird...

Do you have these down there? The Widow and Naners?

Now that you mention it, I don't have any scary stories with spiders, here in Cuba there is no highly venous species to fear too much. I only remember one that is vulgarly called the hairy spider, it is a little bigger, black and the bite usually hurts a little. the rest go unnoticed, at least for me. hahaha

I had thought Cuba would would have a lot of spiders to be honest, I'm surprised a few have said there is not, and snakes too for that matter. Here in Australia, there's a lot of deadly things, but we all manage to co-exist I guess.

Good spiders there must be a lot of different species, I guess. What they must be small and since they are nothing to be afraid of, they go unnoticed. Snakes are not many either. I guess since it's an island everything is too small, so there's plenty to talk about. We have for example the smallest bird in the world, a frog that measures 1 cm and me. jajajajajajajajajajjaja
Just kidding, I'm not that short. jajaja
